What do you do, if one member of your household is always warm...even in the middle of winter...and you, being of sound mind, realize that snow means cold? You whine until he buys you a Cabela's Grand River Lodge Fleece Wrap. Okay, maybe YOU don't whine, but I did and on Christmas I opened up a present and found my wrap inside. He bought it through the Cabela's catalog for $49.95 + shipping.
Cabela's Grand River Lodge Fleece Wrap comes in 9 patterns. Any man or woman is sure to find one that they like. My wrap is the Moon Dancer pattern. I love the winter scene with wolves look. It's mostly blues, grays and white, which in my household, with two dogs, is going to get dirty. I don't worry about it, though, this wrap is machine washable.
On first feel of the Cabela's Grand River Lodge Fleece Wrap I thought it was so thin that it wasn't going to be able to do the job and keep me warm. I was wrong. The 230-weight polyester fleece is lightweight, but warm, when I'm wrapped up in it.
Getting cozy in this fleece wrap can take a few minutes. So, make sure you have everything handy (soda, munchies, book, tv remote) before you settle in. The Cabela's Grand River Lodge Fleece Wrap has a 45" zipper and 10 snaps. After, getting the wrap zipped you can pull the top corners over your shoulders and fasten them near the top of the zipper to create arm holes. There are more snaps to close the blanket across your chest. The rest of the snap closures are across the bottom of the wrap to enclose your feet.
I've had 2 other wraps, where enclosing my feet would have been impossible. It seems other wraps are made for small adults & children. At 6' tall, they barely reached mid-calf, let alone my feet. Tall people, rejoice! This wrap is 60" X 80", plenty of length to keep your toes warm, without any pulling in the shoulder area.
Cabela's claims this wrap is fade-resistant, water-resistant and has an anti-pilling exterior. I haven't spilled water on it, but it is soda-resistant. When I spilled a small amount of my soda, I was able to wipe it up with a paper towel, without the wrap soaking any of it in. I've washed this wrap once and it did not fade and there is no pilling. I'll be interested to see if it keeps it claims after several washings, but as the wrap is reversible, with the pattern the same all the way through, fading is not a concern.
The one problem I have with this wrap is the zipper. It's easy to get zipped, but any movement causes it to unzip part way. I settled this problem by leaving the arm that is holding the book, reaching for a drink or whatever, unsnapped for movement.
To "wrap" this up: Will the wrap save our marriage? Well, our marriage was never in trouble, but, he can throw the ear plugs away. My whining days are over, even I'm warm now with the Cabela's Grand River Lodge Fleece Wrap!
