| cmaw63's Full Review: Palmolive Ultra, Spring Sensations Liquid Soap, Fr... |
My husband bought a, 38 fluid ounce, bottle of Palmolive Ultra, Spring Sensations Liquid Soap, Fresh Green Apple at the local grocery store for $2.89. When I asked him why he changed from our regular brand, he told me, "Because green is your favorite color." Not, exactly, what I base my dish soap purchases on, but it was a nice thought. When I did dishes later that night, I gave Palmolive Ultra, Spring Sensations Liquid Soap, Fresh Green Apple a try.
The Scent
We have an apple tree in our yard and this dish soap reminded me of cutting into one of the apples I pick through the summer. It has a true apple scent, without a "soap" smell. The liquid is a nice, light green color. One point in hubby's favor.
Dispensing
Palmolive claims this has a "thick, rich formula". Wrong. When turned upside down, with the pull top popped open, this soap will run out without the bottle being squeezed. It has more of a water consistency than a thick lotion type. Minus one point for hubby.
Suds
When added to the running water, this dish soap immediately starts putting out the suds. With only adding one squirt of this soap, I've had to scoop out some of the bubbles from the sink. I would have had bubbles everywhere, before I had enough water for the dishes. They had good staying power, also. I still had suds left when done with all of the dishes. This was supper dishes, pots & pans for two. Great bubble action going on here. Point for hubby.
Cleaning
An added sticker on the bottle claims, "Toughest on Grease!" I haven't done an in depth comparison, but, it just, may, be right. I did all the dishes, coming to a greasy, blackened pan, saved for last. I let the pan soak for 10 minutes and was able to scrub it clean with a minimum of effort. Clean dishes, minimum of effort? Definite point for hubby.
Done
I have, somewhat, sensitive & dry skin. I've used some dish soaps that have left my hands very dry and others that burn my skin. This dish soap does neither. The same added sticker, as above, states "Mild on Hands". It is, and I would like it for that alone. I can't say that it moisturizes your skin, but it doesn't harm it either. One more point for hubby.
Palmolive Ultra, Spring Sensations Liquid Soap, Fresh Green Apple does what it says it will do. The scent, suds, cleaning power and gentleness of this dish soap earned my hubby 4 bonus points. (with an added bonus point for remembering my favorite color) The consistency isn't an issue, because this stuff works. I'm impressed with this dish soap and what it does. It's the only one our household will use from now on.
What did my hubby win for all those bonus points? He got to try out Palmolive Ultra, Spring Sensations Liquid Soap, Fresh Green Apple for himself the next night! ;)
