Pros: It had a happy ending after all. Like a fairytale.
Cons: It showed abuse can be in any family. Even one that appears to be perfect.
The Bottom Line: I recommend any Tyler Perry fan to add this one to your collection and file it under fairytale endings.

| pamwy2's Full Review: Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion |
If you are a Tyler Perry fan like I am, someone who has read all of his books, has all of his plays and movies on DVD, then you know that most every play was made into a movie.
Lets look at Madea's Family Reunion. The movie was quite different from the play. The play was more of a comic version where Madea is toting her gun around in her purse and shooting a people. Quite funny, as she normally is.
However, the movie was much more touching. It centered on Madea's family. Two sisters were the main characters. One who was in an abusive relationship but was going to get married and try to keep the abuse a secret. She was going to marry a hunk of a man too, Blair Underwood. Her sister on the other hand had grew up sexually abused by her mother's (Lynn Whitfield) husband and her sister's father. She kept a secret for years until she became an adult and found out that her sister was being beaten. She did not want her sister to settle for that type of life. She confronted her mother in front of her sister and explain what a horrible life she lived as a child and that was basically the reason she did not know how to accept love. A wonderful man had come into her life who loved and wanted to marry her but she was afraid to let go and love him back. But she finally did.
Her sister soon got the nerve to confront and leave her abusive fiance` and followed Madea's advice and doused him with grits and returned some of those punches back on him he had put on her. She cancelled their wedding, however the wedding still went on. Her sister and her knight in shinning armour to their place and got married. It was beautiful. The evil mother was genuinely happy for them to.
Even though they had the reunion, I think the real reunion was at the end of the movie when the all got together and dance at the wedding.
This movie was truly inspiring as it showed how family, if joined together can work through any trouble. Blood is thicker than mud. Get my drift.
This is a movie you won't want to miss.
