Pros: The plan is one low price 29.95 a month for all your calls.
Cons: The service cuts in and out frequently, and getting a replacement is a hassle.
The Bottom Line: Think twice before falling for the once low price hype! The quality of service matters.

Wow, all your incoming and outgoing calls for only 29.95! What a deal, right?
This may be the plan for you if:
You use a huge amount of minutes a month and you do not need many extra services.
If you worry about nights or weekend plans or keeping track of the amount of minutes you have spent.
In that respect it is simpler than most cellular plans you will find and if you take the basic package with no extras you will probably end up better financially than some other prepaid plans.
Things to consider:
The additional fees for call waiting, messaging, and insurance and taxes can easily send you into the 49-52 dollar range a month. You may be able to find a more reasonable prepaid plan that has these built in to their package. You may even be able to save money with a pay by the minute service that gives you a break on nights and weekends if that is your primary usage time.
Annoying things that happen frequently:
Having to call back the person you are talking to every five minutes or so because your losing your signal strength and your well within your calling range.
Having to take your phone that is under warranty to a service tech who will most certainly tell you that it is something you have done to the phone to cause it to act up.
If you need a replacement and you have paid the extra two dollars a month then you will be instructed to call a 1-800 number and speak to a representative who will explain that you need to send in your damaged phone and pay a $35.00 replacement fee even though you have been paying insurance for X amount of months to cover it. They will send your phone to your COD. If your phone is stolen you are required to file a police report, an added hassle and follow the above steps to receive a replacement. The insurance company may terminate your coverage if they feel it is an unreasonable claim.
Common problems from Cricket Owners:
Antennas breaking off without being dropped or handled roughly (this is the Nokia phone that comes with the Cricket service package) should be under warranty. I know of at least six people that have had this happen.
Phones simply have no signal strength without warning. When taken to the service center you will be told that you either dropped it, got wet, left it in a hot car, or was subjected to getting hot then cold too often.
