| dev-n-diva's Full Review: Downy Wrinkle Releaser All Scents |
I admit it I hate to iron. It is my husband that irons in this household.I generally make sure that the clothes I buy do not have to be ironed. On the rare occasion that I miss certain blends and ironing is not an option it is a must. Well recently I did just that with a dress that I bought for my daughter. So when I saw a trial size of Downy Wrinkle Releaser I picked it up.
-Product Information-
Downy Wrinkle Releaser comes in a white opalescent bottle with spray pump. I purchased the 4 oz. trial size for $1.50 since I did not want to go and spend the $4-$5 for the full sized that did not work and I would not use much of anyway.
The wrinkle releaser does have a light scent, but it is not bad and does not last all that long once the fabric is dried. This can be used on virtually all fabrics, but you will want to test on silk and rayon in an inconspicuous area just to make sure that water marks are not left behind. I am not sure how this will do on heavier weight fabrics, but says it works well on lighter weight pants, shirts, and trousers as well as dresses.
Well my test came when I got my daughters Valentines Day dress out of the bag it was kept in in her closet and it was all wrinkled. The top portion of the dress is made of silk and the bottom of the dress is made of taffeta. I lightly sprayed an area under the arm to test how the Downy Wrinkle Releaser would work on the silk portion of the dress. After the area had dried there were no water marks or spots left so I knew it was safe.
I sprayed down my daughters dress and gently tugged and smoothed out all of the wrinkles. There were a couple of spots I had to go over a couple more times to get all of the wrinkles out. The one thing to know is to not soak the item just spray it until it is damp. If you totally soak the item I found that not only does it take longer to dry,but one of the dresses I used it on wrinkled up again as it dried. My daughters dress look as good as it did when I first put it in her closet. In total with drying time it only took about and hour and a half to get out all of the wrinkles.
I have since used this on a couple of other dresses that had been carelessly shoved into my daughters closet with the same luck. I do not see me purchasing a larger size bottle because I do not have many clothes that are not wrinkle free and it did not take much of the Downy Wrinkle Releaser to work.

-Final Thoughts-
Though I do not see myself using this product very often it has done what it said it would. None of my daughters dresses were extremely wrinkled nor did they have deep wrinkles in them so I am not sure how the Downy Wrinkle Releaser would do on them. I just know that the light/medium wrinkling of my daughters dresses were taken care of with this wrinkle releaser.
