| aweston7566's Full Review: General Reviews of Cingular Wireless Customer Serv... |
Cingular Wireless has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. 1st problem: I waited 1 month before activating my gophone(they said I had 60 days to active) and during that time my number was reassigned to someone else. After having numerous problems trying to activate, I called up cingular and after 20 minutes the rep told me that the number I had was activated and that he didn't know why the phone wasn't working (I was given complete access to the account for the original number I was assigned even though I later found out that the account belonged to someone else. My husband called cingular later that day and that rep told him that the number was reassigned and that we would have to pay $30 for a new sim card before we could activate the phone. The guys at the cingular store gave us a new sim card for free and we were finally able to activate the phone. 2nd problem: Cingular charges for text messages that people send you. I was getting charged for several messages per day, so I called cingular to see if they could stop it. They said they could stop the messages from being sent to the phone, but they couldn't stop the charges. They told me to text message "stop" to the numbers texting me. Easier said than done since my phone wouldn't send text messages. I called cingular again and talked to two different people. Neither of them could figure out why the phone couldn't send text messages. They told me to block the message sender on www.cingularcares.com. That webpage was down the whole month and a half that I've had the phone.
Problem 3: I was charged $9.99 for a ringtone I never downloaded. I called cingular yet again. They agreed to refund the money. Two weeks later I checked my phone balance again. I was charged another $9.99 for a ringtone I didn't download and the 1st $9.99 was never refunded.
In conclusion, I had $25 on my account originally and after 1.5 months I'm now down to $2. $20 of that paid for ringtones I didn't order and $1.50 for text messages that I can't stop and $0.50 for the two minute call I made. If you are in the virginmobile coverage area, I highly recommend them.
