I needed to buy a dress for a wedding that I am going to in about two weeks. I searched online for deals for a while because I didn't want to put that much money into something I was only going to wear a few times.
After searching for a while, I found SmartBargains.com. Their prices were pretty good, comparable and even better than some other online merchants. I found lots of dresses/skirts that I liked, but when I got ready to order them, they would only have a few of only one certain size in stock. It was very rare for them to have all sizes (small, medium, and large) in stock. I would find something I liked, and all they would have would be "3 left in size extra small" and also in a color that was completely different than in the picture. Several outfits showed photos of them in certain colors, but when trying to order not only did they only have one size available, but the only color available would be completely different.
The website did, however, have a good selection of all different kinds of products. The products ranged from bed and bath, to home and kitchen, to clothing and shoes. The shipping was very reasonable as well. I did eventually find a dress that suited me because they had some very specific searching and filtering options to choose from. I chose the size I wanted, and it pulled up every dress they had in my size! They are also partnered with "Bill Me Later" which is great because I don't have to pay right away. I figured if I didn't like the dress once I received it, I could always send it back and just have my Bill Me Later account refunded and there would be no out of pocket cost for me, and I wouldn't have to wait on my refund back to my bank account.
Speaking of refunds, SmartBargains.com also sends a prepaid return label with all merchandise so if you don't like it, you don't even have to pay to have it returned!
I placed the order on a Sunday night with 2 day delivery. My package was shipped out on Monday and it was received on Wednesday. They did have extremely fast shipping!
The quality of the dress and shoes I purchased was very good. I am very happy with them. They are worth every penny that I paid. The dress is a good, strong material that can be washed with no problem with all of your other clothes. The shoes were leather, and appeared just as they were described.
The only complaint I have is that I did not receive an order confirmation email, OR a shipping email. I had no idea my order even went through completely. I do not have a SPAM filter on my email, so I know the email could not have gotten deleted by my email software. Confirmation email or not, a shipping email would have been nice. Even without a tracking number, it would have been nice to know my order was placed and shipped. So, I tried to call before my package was received to see if my order went through and if it had been shipped. I called about 10 times. The first time I sat on hold for 30 minutes, no one ever picked up. I called again, held for 30 minutes, no one picked up. I called again about 5 times and their system hung up on me each time. I called back about 3 more times and held for about 10-15 minutes each time and still no one helped me. I know their call volume is not THAT high, and if it is, they really need more employees. I even called at different times in the day, it was not all at the same time period. Their customer service is horrible.
I recommend SmartBargains.com to you for every reason except if you want customer service. If you are happy ordering and hope there is no problems to where you have to call, then great, order from them. I would like to warn you though, if you do have a problem, you won't get them by phone or email!! I am very lucky that I didn't have any problems.
