I have been a member of Gocollect.com for almost two years and I am totally impressed with this site. I was not a collector until I learned about this site through Mycoupons.com rewards forum. I immediately got hooked.
WHAT IS SOLD HERE
I just checked the index at this site and found a list over approximately 100 lines of collectibles that this site carries. Here are a few examples of the lines they carry: All God's Children, Barley Bears, Boyds Bearstones, Colonial at Home, Dreamsicles, Ebony Visions, Just the Right Shoe, Looney Tunes, M.I. Hummel, Northern Lights, Precious Moments, Snowbabies, and Yankee Candles. If this is not enough, this site is constantly expanding its line of products.
Also, they are beginning to add on more lines that appeal to men. I have purchases a porcelain box in the shape of the White House and several sports items for my son. Some of the items are exclusive to gocollect.com. Today I just noticed that they are selling porcelain boxes that look just like Pez Dispensers.
Christmas decorations abound here. Almost all lines carried have Christmas ornaments. In addition, they are now carrying items from Bonner's Christmas Shop. Bonner's B&M shop is the largest Christmas shop in the U.S. They have many exquisite items. Therefore, it is quite a joy to be able to purchase their items through Gocollect.com.
THE LOYALTY PROGRAM
Gocollect.com's loyalty program is fabulous. Enrolling is free and one is given 50 points for enrollment. Then, every day one gets 5 points just for logging in to the site. However, you will find it hard to just log in. Almost everyone explores the site for at least a few minutes every day. Additionally, approximately once a week there is a trivia question and a survey to complete. The survey is typically just one question. These activities will give you 5 to 15 points. Throughout the year, there are special activities which enable one to obtain points. Also, one gains points for every $1 they spend on purchases. Lastly, one obtains 50 points for every person they refer to this program.
Each point is worth $.02. You will be amazed at how quickly the points add up. When you get 500 points, you can use the points toward a purchase. Within about 2 months, I typically have enough points to buy a $15 item. My house is full of free Yankee Candles and other items I have purchased through this site. When using loyalty points to buy items one, however, must typically pay for shipping.
SHIPPING
Shipping is free for orders over $50. For orders of $49.99 or less, the shipping is $4.95. I feel that this is reasonable. Shipping is EXTREMELY quick. I don't know how they do it but there has been several times in which I have received my items in less than 48 hours. Typically, I get my items within 4 days. A few times a year, they have free shipping weekends.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
I have never needed to contact customer service because I have not had any problems with my orders or with the site. However, I have known of others who have had contact with them and these individuals were impressed with the assistance provided. This company seems to "know how to do it right".
OTHER NICETIES OF GOCOLLECT.COM
Newsletter Gocollect.com provides registered members (who request it) with a wonderful newsletter. This newsletter provides a significant amount of information about new items, new bonuses, and ways to earn points. Unlike other stores, gocollect.com does not fill your e-mail box with tons of e-mails. These newsletters are presented about once every week or two.
Gift Finder. This is a service is designed to make finding the right gift easier. I have not had much luck with it; however, it may be more useful to others.
Latest News and Collector's Community. These parts of the site describes news relevant to collectors. There are many interesting stories. For example, there currently is a post regarding a Precious Moments convention. Authorities from the collecting world present reviews and articles here.
Discussion Boards. Gocollect.com has a variety of discussion boards relating to collecting. I have not participated in any of these so I don't know much about them.
Links for Collecting Magazines. Currently, there are a handful of collecting magazines available through this site. However, one can order these at a savings of 41 - 74% off of the publisher's price.
Links to Local Collecting Clubs. I was very surprised to discover that there was a collecting club in my locale.
EASE OF NAVIGATION
I have never had any difficulty navigating around this site. Also, I can't remember a time when the site was down. They do an excellent job of of keeping the site up and running.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Even if you don't collect yourself, the items sold here make wonderful gifts. Through their loyalty program, you will be able to obtain some wonderful gifts for either yourself or for someone else. I have a dial-up connection so I just set Gocollect as my start-up page. That way, I will not forget to log on every day. Also, I find it more soothing to log on to the computer and see nice products from this site rather than serious news stories like I used to see every time I logged on when I had yahoo.com as my start-up page.
