Bowel movements. There I said it...let's get the giggling and blushes out of the way. Everyone, everywhere has bowel movements. Yet, it is not considered polite conversation unless you are talking to your doctor. So, why would I agree to write a public review for all the world to read? Maybe...just maybe...someone has the same problem with irregularity as I do and will be able to find a measure of relief.
Metamucil Berry Burst! Sugar Free Powder
All the stuff you can find on the plastic container... but just in case you don't have one handy:
Metamucil Berry Burst! is an artificially flavored fiber laxative/supplement. It has been proven that a diet including Metamucil has lowered cholesterol, helping the heart. It's main use, though, is as a laxative to aid in bowel habits.

My Usage & Results
I've been using Metamucil Berry Burst! Sugar Free Powder for a little over a week now, 2 times daily. Why would I review it so soon after starting to use it? Because I just can't make myself take it anymore. When added to water it tastes like very weak kool-aid. That is definitely not a drink of choice for me. I tried adding it to sugar free punch kool-aid. While it was a definite improvement on the flavor of the Metamucil, it made the kool-aid less palatable to me. The only way I could keep using Berry Burst! is if they added more flavor to it, making it at least a somewhat tasty drink, when mixed with water. The light thickening of the liquid didn't affect me in a negative way, until I got to the bottom.
Stir, stir, and stir some more. After mixing the fiber into my liquid of choice, I had to drink fast. If I took a few minutes to answer someone talking to me or to let go of my nose and breath (yes, I'm a nose holder when I'm drinking something that tastes bad to me) anyway...I would have to stir the mixture again. If I didn't there would be a gloppy, thick mass of it in the bottom of the glass. It does state on the container if the mixture thickens add more liquid. I had to do that a couple of times.
The results from using Metamucil Berry Burst! were decent. While, I'm not "regular" in my habits, I am able to have an easier time. My diet is not the best and I've paid for it in the past with discomfort. I enjoy being cramp free, the usual signal that "it's time". I, also, like that using Metamucil Berry Burst! is an easy and effective way to lower my cholesterol.
I do like the results I'm seeing, physically, with the use of Berry Burst!. I just can't recommend it with the taste issue.
This product came from Hass MS&L in exchange for my honest review.
