Saran QuickCovers are a SNAP to use

Pros: Attractive, easy to use, wonderful job!
Cons: None at all.
The Bottom Line: These can cover ALMOST everything! Tuck one into your suitcase for a shower cap! I love them. They have revolutionized my way of storing & covering food dishes.

Saran™ is one word that has become a proprietary eponym in our culture. Say the word "Saran" and one immediately thinks of PLASTIC WRAP. There are other such words - Kleenex - Scott Towels, etc., but I am here to tell you that the makers of Saran™ Wrap (SC Johnson & Sons) have come out with a terrific new product:
Saran™ QuickCovers™
These plastic covers look like shower caps, but no shower cap could do the jobs that Saran™ QuickCovers™ do.
I first saw them on a TV Ad. There were pictures of bowls of fruit, salad, roast chicken, etc., covered with bright little snug-fitting plastic covers, being slid into a refrigerator.
I liked the idea for I have always despaired of trying to rip off some aggravating plastic wrap to do a job for me. Who hasn't lost his/her temper or said a few words while being tangled up in plastic wrap? It would stick to itself and I would have to resort to a tricky maneuver with scissors to achieve what I wanted.
It seemed like no matter what brand of plastic wrap I would buy, I always had the same problem, some worse than others. So when I saw Saran™ QuickCovers™ on display in Wal-Mart's, I bought a box.
They come in attractive, clear, round plastic containers with a fitted lid.
1. Small - purple color -- 9 7/16" - box of 16, about $2.50.
One of these will extend to the size of a medium doll's head. They easily fit over small mixing bowls (#'s 1 & 2 in my 4-bowl set), glasses, small salad bowls and cups. However, I have an 8" soup dish and the small cover will not quite make it.
2. Medium - blue color -- 14 1/8" -- box of 14 about $2.84.
These medium ones cover the #3 bowl in my 4-bowl set and with a little more effort it fits even my largest 11 3/4" bowl. The blue ones will easily cover pies or cakes, 2-quart casserole dishes, pitchers and what have you?
3. Large - Pink -19 1/4" - Box of 10 about $3.49.
These will fit ANYTHING that the other ones can't. They will even cover a 13x9 sheet cake pan. I just tried one on my PIZZA PAN and it covers it nicely.
[[ My Experience with Saran™ QuickCovers™ ]]
I was impulse buying (from the TV AD) and figured that I was probably being foolish by buying what I thought would be "throw-aways." But no such thing. These QuickCovers™ are STURDY. You can use them not only in the refrigerator, but when reheating or defrosting in a microwave Oven. However, do NOT use them in a conventional ovens, stovetops, or toaster ovens. They ARE plastic.
I started with a container of the small covers, but soon purchased one of each of the other sizes, as I became more aware of their possibilities.
I have even washed the QuickCovers™ in the top rack of my dishwasher, and they came out fine. However, that's not really necessary as they are easily rinsed, dried and used over and over again.
I've been using these covers for six-months and have NEVER had to throw one away. I absolutely love them and feel they are the best thing to come down the pike in a long, long time. And I still have not used all the covers in any one container, and yet I use them in every imaginable situation from leftovers to pies and cakes and casserole dishes!

Incidentally, I saw on the Web that SC Johnson Co. also puts out products like Windex, Pledge, Shout, Glade and many others. Since 1990, 460 million lbs. of waste have been cut from their products & processes, resulting in more recycled packaging, more recyclable packages, and less harsh ingredients.
[[ My Recommendations ]]
I highly, highly recommend Saran™ QuickCovers™ . I believe that once you have tried them, you'll love them as much as I do. You'll find more and more uses for them as time goes by and I doubt that they will ever fail you.
I do recommend buying one container of each of the three sizes, or at least start with the blue or pink ones. Then you won't have to kick yourself, as I did, if one is too small for the job.
