First, I'll start off and say that I am very into movies. In fact, I'd love to write and direct my own pieces. I love a good story, an unseen twist, and a hell of a good ending.
However, this review is on the movie "Premonition" and unfortunately not on great movies that were able to incorporate those few important touches.
This movie was not a "disgrace" by any means. It was just, not enjoyable. There is a limit to how much a person actually can and wants to think during a film. Movies like Deja Vu had a great level of thinking, as this film was too much. Too many flashbacks, too many plot holes that you thought would be uncovered in the twist, and just a lot for one movie. I found myself thinking over and over again "What is going on?" I figured it was one of those movies where everything comes together at the end. I was wrong. I do feel, however, that with a little extra work, this script and story could have been perfected into something great. But, unfortunately, it was just a little much.
A good plot twist is something every movie needs. The best twists are the ones that hit you in the last two seconds. Sadly, this films "last two seconds" were way far-fetched and over the top. I really don't want to give any spoilers, but let's just say the shot of her stomach? Yeah...right...
This brings me to my final point of the ending. It was just ridiculous. Get off your damn cell phone and turn the car around. I don't see the reason to all of the mayhem. Not to mention, the truck exploded... in the flashback his head was just severed. You think it'd be a little worse than a decapitation...
It was an alright film. Not one that I'd watch again or recommend to others.
