I believe many of you have seen the store's advertising and coupon offers online, (it's everywhere on coupon web sites, reward program web sites etc..). I saw a lot too and wondered if they carried good quality products or variety of products. I've purchased non-brand ink cartridges (at overstock.com) before, and was not so good (I bought 2 made by never-heard of manufacture brand then, one worked super fine, it printed papers like 160 sheets, serious, then when I changed it to another one to replace, it last only 26 pages or so, so by using 2 cartridges, I was able to print nearly 200 pages, but they should work the same, right? not one can print 160 pages and one can only 26), then I was buying real H&P brand ink cartridges after the experience for a little while, but as you know, real brand ones are very expensive. (the H&P cartridges I use cost over $60 at retail price plus Tax too), sometimes when my wallet is empty, my ink cartridge gets empty too, but if I need something to print asap, I have to buy ink cartridge asap, it happened actually, but I could not spend a lot for that, so I remembered about 123 inkjet ad or coupon, and gave it try.
I think the first purchase with 123 ink jet was okey, I bought non H&P brand cartridges both in Black and color, I think color one did not last long, but black one was okey, there was free shipping service for any purchase at that time, so I was able to save really a lot, (but still it was like $15 for black and $18 for color plus $20-25% off and free ship,I think total was $28 or so, plus if you visit the store and shop via reward program site, you get some money back later also). it was okey to buy cartridges for temporary.
So I shopped again sometime later, then it had a problem. I bought 2 black cartridges and did not use printer so often in that period (I just had a baby then maybe color print for baby photos a lot, but not black ink to print documents, letters), so when the first black cartridge got empty 5-6 months after the purchase, then replaced it to the other one, then ink did not come out when printing, I thought the store wouldn't help 'cause the purchase date was 5-6 months ago, even though I just opened the 2nd cartridge, but I was lucky, I saved the receipt from 123 ink jet for the purchase, and read it carefully. it said that the store will exchange defective cartridge even 5-6 months later(I think guaranteed for a year or so), to do so, I had to call the customer service dept, and I did. I only mentioned that the one of the cartridges I bought was defective and ink did not come out, then the woman who answered the phone did not ask me any thing, but just said "okey, then we'll send you pre-paid return envelope, so you can return the defective one, and as soon as we receive your return, we'll ship a new one". I got pre-paid return envelope in a week or so, then returned the defective one and got a new one soon. the new one worked fine.
I ordered again, both black and color cartridge with non-H&P brand, but there was a problem, when I was shopping, and added black cartridge in my cart, the store suggested other recommended products, one of them was "replaced for H&P 58 color cartridge with different ink", my printer used #57color, but the #58 in the info was mixed with different type of red,(for #57, it's magenta type of red), I am an artist, I like new experiment with colors, so I wanted to try the #58, so without checking anything, I ordered it instead of #57, but when I installed it, it did not go easily, it fit at last, but did not work and my computer said that wrong cartridge in my printer, so I thought I had to take it out, it didn't come out easily I almost broke my printer to take it out. the store must have listed the type of the printers that used #58, I got confused with such recommendation info. it looked like just different color mixed color cartridge worked same as #57, looked like so. it never says what printers can use #58, it recommended for everyone who bought #56 black ink. it was scary experience that wrong cartridge stuck inside my printer. I haven't purchased anything after this with 123 ink jet. maybe they can help me to replace, but part of the cartridge is broken(when I took it out of my printer, it got tipped off), so they might say I choose wrong item and yet can not return in new condition, so I have not contatced the store.
The store used to carry many staff, even photo papers, iron-on transfer papers (I have purchased one before), but it's mostly gone now, no iron-on transfer papers, not many types of photo papers to choose from. they also carry brand name cartridges with some discount.
So it's okey if you order correctly, they will replace it in case your purchased item was defective even 5-6 months after the purchase, recommend to order multiple same items for just in case, (like if one of the cartridges did not work, you can try the other, if you have only one that didn't work, there is nothing but go to the nearby drugstore or office supply store to buy the brand named super expensive one for emergency). And usually delivery takes 7-10 days (I am in CO and the store located in CA few states away, but takes that long), not sure if it is because I never paid for shipping(always order when free shipping is offered), and if it arrives faster to the people who paid regular shipping fee. Anyway using this store is for non emergency people and non emergency use.
