Unica Home provides inadequate and rude customer service; don't be fooled by the merchandise.

Our experience was very similar to the negative stories others are telling. We registered for our wedding with Unica Home and had no problems; even back ordered items arrived within six weeks. After giving the store substantial business, we ordered a chair during the Herman Miller sale, with a store credit from a returned item. We were told it would be no problem to ship it after we moved several months later at the sale price (basically, we put the order in and held it). Once we arrived at our new home, we called to put the order through, only to be told that two purchasing agreements had been sent to our old address and never returned. We were still living at the old address on the days they said they mailed the purchasing agreements and never received them as forwards, though all other mail arrived (we now doubt the agreements were ever sent). At this point, though we had an order confirmation on email stating the sale price, Unica Home would no longer honor that price, because we didn't have anything in writing stating that they promised to send the item later at that price (though three separate phone conversations confirmed that they would). At this point we were frustrated and asked simply to get our money back so we could start again elsewhere. This was counter to the sales policy, but it seemed there was little chance of a happy resolution with Unica Home. We spoke to the owner's wife, who very rudely refused to help at all. After we stated that we had brought much business through our registry and would not recommend the company to others, she hung up the phone. At every turn, Unica Home failed to provide even a decent level of customer service. Most companies would go out of their way to please a customer, but Unica Home is apparently a failure at even the simplest requests. I would not recommend Unica Home to others; you can find the same great merchandise elsewhere, without the rudeness and likely frustrating experience.
