This online gang is becoming notorious for selling used, refurbished items as new. In my case it was a Cuisinart DCC-1200 coffee maker. The only indications that it was used were the letters "FR" added to the model number and some tiny type at the bottom of a very long web page where you would normally expect to find a copyright notice. I also should have known better when the price was too good to be true. They have a policy of "customer service" only by email. I became suspicious when they charged my credit card immediately but had not shipped after 4 days. That is when I discovered the deception in their advertisement. I sent numerous emails and a certified return-receipt letter over the period of a week, attempting to cancel the order. They still tried to ship it to me. I intervened with FedEx and had the shipment turned around enroute. They still charged me $10 shipping and $7 "restocking fee". VISA bought their story that I had "returned" the item because it "did not meet my needs". Most complaints about this gang are that they take forever (literally) to ship items. Maybe the way to get them to speed up is to try to cancel an order. I will be joining the other people who have contacted the New York State Attorney General about this enterprise.
Aug. 2008 - After pressuring iKitchen through their e-commerce host, Yahoo, they finally returned the last $17.
Nov. 2008 - I am struck by the contrasting reviews for this enterprise. They are mostly either very good or very bad. I am also struck by the similarity in language among the glowingly positive reviews.....
