I while back I wrote a review on how to buy lingerie for your wife (http://www.epinions.com/kifm-review-45F7-2955958F-3994C157-prod5) based on my shopping for my wife at Victoria’s Secret. I thought it most appropriate when my mistress Arielssong invited me to an underwear write off, I would write on where I shopped for her; Frederick’s Of Hollywood. (Don’t worry about it folks, my wife is cool with our ‘arrangement.’)
Considering I have already given Ariel her Christmas ‘gifts’, I thought taking my readers through a tour of my shopping experience at Fredericks.com where I found most of her stocking stuffers.
First I must say that Frederick’s web site is quite well laid out and it was easy for a MCP (Male Chauvinist Pig) like myself to easily find my mistress everything to tickle her fancy. My first adventure into Frederick’s Of Hollywood took me to the perfect Christmas gift for that special someone, the Velvet Santa Teddy. Ariel absolutely loves velvet so I knew that this would be a perfect addition to her Christmas bounty. The Velvet Santa Teddy is very Christmassy with a red velvet body and white fuzzy fringe. Adding in the Jingle Bell Thigh High Stockings and the Santa Hat amounted to a perfect ensemble for those cold Christmas-eve nights by the fire.
The best part of Frederick’s is that they are not too pricey. The entire outfit only cost $68.00. In comparison to Victoria’s Secret outfit for my wife could easily run over $100.00. At Frederick’s, style is not the only thing that is cheap. Just to top off the Christmas theme, I added in the Two Piece Santa’s Helper Bra Set for only $34.00. Santa would defiantly choose this Christmas package over cookies and milk any day.
In my Christmas shopping I knew that I had to find items to last all year long, and this required some creative shopping. For those times when my wife is off being ‘Mrs. Professional Opera Singer, and Ariel is feeling kind of spunky, I decided that the perfect ensemble would be the Moulin Rouge costume for $45.00. Of course, once I added in the corset and stockings, this outfit easily pushed $100.00. In addition to their ‘sultry’ costumes, Frederick’s also has other items in their Fantasy line that are just a little too racy for our tastes. Items like the crochless panties and open cup bras have given Frederick’s the trashy reputation that they do not necessarily deserve.
Even a MCP like myself knows that you cannot just buy a woman kinky outfits to keep her happy. Frederick’s has us covered on that end as well. Frederick’s was able to stock my gift-giving foray with many practical underwear items for the sexy women in my life. When it comes to the practical side of gift giving, nothing beats some good sets of bras and panties. Guys, a word of advice; when shopping for your special someones, women always like to have their under-things matching. Why? I don’t know, but trust me, she will think you are the greatest thing in the world if you coordinate your colors.
In my quest for some matching under-things, I discovered that Frederick’s has some different terminology than what I described in my aforementioned review on shopping at Victoria’s Secret. I still have not discovered all the ins and outs of underwear that contain gel and water, but from what I understand, gel and water seems to push things in all the right directions. The prices on these enhancing under-things seem a little high, with some of the Liquid Dreams bras costing almost $50.00 each. When compared to some of the real expensive bras that my wife buys at Victoria’s Secret, however, Frederick’s can undress your mistress for far less.
Frederick’s Of Hollywood also carries some items that are just plain puzzling. The two items that take the cake in my book of the bizarre are Stick On Bras like the Breast Petals and Breast Enhancers, which are nothing more than plastic boobies.
Frederick’s line is not just limited to what I have described in my shopping foray. Frederick’s also has wigs, formal dresses, casual dresses, shoes, robes, and even men’s clothing. I would like to make a note that no man would be caught dead wearing the so-called men’s clothing found at Frederick’s. Most of these items look like nothing more than woman’s underwear painfully un-modified for men to wear. I will be glad to settle for Joe-Boxer and Ralph Lauren underwear any day.
Checking out at Frederick’s Of Hollywood was a breeze. With the option of gift-wrapping for only $5.00 I was able to save a lot of time when the special something’s arrived. The shipping charges were somewhat reasonable, with overnight shipping on my $500.00 order only costing $15.00. The shipment did arrive the next day as promised and everything was properly gift wrapped as well.
For anyone who thought that Frederick’s Of Hollywood carried nothing but cheap trashy clothing, you are only half right. Frederick’s prices are not the only thing that are cheap, but I would not call everything they sell trashy.
If you want to find some more information on underwear that is not necessarily trashy, check out Arielssong’s profile page for more information on her Underwear Write-Off. Those who have chosen to participate so far are: Arielssong, Artbyjude, Mattels, and Mnehr.
P.S. Any hints that I am anything less than a faithful husband are purely coincidental.
