My Wedding Announcement: October 14th, 2006
Oct 13 '06 (Updated Dec 22 '08)
The Bottom Line My buddies like to razz me a bit about getting hitched, "Oh, Jeff there is 3 rings you'll need: The Engagement Ring, The Wedding Ring, and the Suffering."
Some of you may or may not already know, but I am engaged to a beautiful girl named Annalise, our wedding is taking place tomorrow at St. Mary Immaculate Church. The reception is to be held at The Drake, which is the hotel she currently works for. The food, service, room décor, and overall appeal are excellent I know we will have a night to remember. Approximately 154 people will be in attendance to share in our love.
Meeting Each Other
Our relationship was sparked through a mutual friend, which I have known for over a decade, he introduced us when he came back from school in Florida. We were both 19 years old, and she was having some tough times with a previous relationship, so Brian called her and said “Why don’t you come grab your swim suit and meet my friend Jeff.” Well funny thing it was January, so she was a bit confused, once she came over and saw the Indoor Hot Tub her relief was apparent.
When I first meet Annalise I was taken back by her beauty, and we instantly clicked. Our characters match up almost immediately being; talkative, outgoing, happy, and friendly. We happened to exchange numbers that night and have been dating exclusively for 5 years ever since.
The Engagement
I knew after just a short while she was the one, but I wanted to be able to provide a good life for her before asking the big question. This was difficult for her, especially because she wanted to get married right away, but I stuck to my goals and purchased a new house just 2 years ago.
Terrible News
Well a terrible tragedy occurred in our lives when her father passed away, the worst part about it was we were actually shopping for her engagement ring when we got the news. So I decided it was not the time to discuss wedding matters with the situation at hand.
A bit of good
Something was left to her as a keep sake from her father; it was his mothers or Annalise's grandmothers’ ring, we decided that this was a precious beautiful ring that had a higher value than anything we could buy at the store. (Every time she looks at it, she is reminded of her father & grandmother.)
How I popped the Question
On her birthday I planned a larger than normal celebration, she received a wonderful Canon Digital Camera, which she absolutely adores. In the morning I made her breakfast as we prepared for the Wine Festival we planned to attend with friends. Mind you it was extremely difficult to keep my intentions candid! We had to leave early as my dinner reservations at one of her favorite Italian Restaurants was beckoning.
Two weeks prior I set up a special reservation with an acquaintance I meet in class, where I spoke about the proposal. During dinner I explained my love for her, and as the dessert was brought out, there was a beautiful ring on a napkin placed delicately on a piece of Flourless Chocolate Cake I asked her if she would marry me, and we stand here today ready to be wed.
Career Change
During our dating process I was working as a Best Buy Computer Technician & Sales Floor Supervisor for the Home Office Department, however this was unfulfilling as I disliked working Retail & dealing with the general public’s lower than average IQ.
Annalise played Ice Hockey for 12 years, and I actually got into Land Surveying because the guy she played hockey with offered me a job as a summer gig.
So I also owe my fantastic career to her beauty.
Honeymoon
We will spend 10 days at an all-inclusive resort on the tropical Island of Dominican Republic. I can’t wait! My vacation is well deserved and I am in need of a little R & R after this stress. Secrets Excellence will be the resort that our much needed vacation will be spent at. My brother will be attending the duties of caretaker for my home as he will be in town and in need of a place to stay.
I'll see you all in a few weeks, and I will be sure to write a review on the place we stayed. Not to mention the 5,000 email alerts I will have to go through when I get back.
Thanks for all the support, Wish me luck
