Pros: Pocketable, sturdy enough for compact & APS cameras.
Cons: You must carefully position your camera for balance.
The Bottom Line: A great accessory for point-and-shoot cameras (and anyone with small cameras or camcorders).

This is a good and inexpensive accessory for you minimalist (but serious) photographers out there. I'm talking to those of you who MUST come back from your vacation with excellent pictures but don't want photography to get in the way of enjoying your days.
I snapped this little puppy up from Wal-Mart for about $6 just before a trip to the Disneyland Resort. I wanted to experiment with night photography using only a point-and-shoot camera (my old Pentax IQZoom 90WR and my Olympus Stylus Epic) and 400ASA/800ASA film.
Using this tripod, fast film, the self-timer (and/or infrared remote), I was able to capture wonderful night Christmas scenics of the theme parks without using the built-in flashes. I had to set the tripod atop unattended food carts or trash bins to get it close to eye-level. By rotating the camera on the tripod, I was able to capture multiple shots from the same point which I later stitched together into a panoramic.
Because not all cameras have their tripod mount at the very center of the bottom of the camera, you need to turn you mount around to even out the weight. This is just a minor inconvenience which did not interfere with the versatility of the tripod.
The tripod legs fold into a flat configuration making the tripod easy and convenient to carry around. I tucked this one into the manual pocket of my Pentax 90WR's case! Overall, I very much like this mini-pod for its size and suggest that you add it to your point-and-shoot arsenal. You'll probably get a lot of comments from passers-by of how "cute" your tripod is.
For those who might need even more versatility, REI markets a slightly larger tripod with a velcro strip attached (so you can strap it to a pole or a branch).
