Cons: 4meg stick supplied, 640x480 digital capture is too low for quality, battery needs more juice!!
The Bottom Line: buy it! for the price vs features and output, you can't go wrong.

True, there are better camcorders, more expensive ones and smaller ones. This one, however, suited me for price, features and size.
The digital video is flawless for quality and the camcorder itself is very easy to use right out of the box.
I would have preferred to see at least an 8meg memory stick instead of the 4meg supplied and a still capture resolution of at least 1 megapixel instead of the 640 x 480 it provides however, it does a nice enough job with the 640x480 it captures.
This unit is also a fully functioning VCR as it allows you to plug in another media player such as a vcr and record directly into the camcorder. Excellent for resaving older tapes onto digital tape. Also handy for travel if you wish to record a movie onto the unit, you can use it as a portable tv/vcr.
I'd not hesitate in suggesting this model to anyone.
I've had many Sony Video recorders and have a lot of faith in the brand.
