Life on the internet consists of filling out numerous forms while trying to remember each password you dreamed up for most websites and e-mail programs. There is a website to go for help in getting this information filled out in a timely manner without wearing out your fingers. Simply type www.gator.com to try a preview of the Gator capabilities.
There are a few annoying aspects to the Gator that might be overlooked for some or just avoid the pop-ups. Gator has coupons and stores credit card and address information that is available only on your computer letting you choose to add the data to a site or turn off for certain ones.
The first step is to download Gator . This is a free service with options for contact information and shipping information. Once you have started with Gator there will be the icon of the Gator eyes on your screen.
With just a click on the icon, located at the system tray at the bottom of the screen, you can add, change or remove your user name with the same options for your password. This is found under Settings . The other options within the box found from the icon are My Info Coupons and a Help key.
My Info - Here you find your contact and credit card information stored. At the top of this screen is where you would update your information with email addresses, phone and fax numbers. You may have different information pertaining to Home or Work on these forms.
Almost each website I visit the Gator pops out at the bottom of my screen with the option to click it on and save the coupon and alternate website information or click it off. If you do not click it on within a few seconds it moves to the middle of your screen thus forcing you to make a decision. For example when I am at a site for books or a medical website the Gator will pop up with their competing website with an enticing % off or a coupon to use.
When you click on the icon and check the Coupons this lists their website and expiring date of the coupon or savings. There is an option to view the original site again to see if interested or just delete them. At the top of this form is a link to get more Gator deals.
The Help button has a series of frequently asked questions, customer service, their User’s Guide and Agreement. You can be offline for updating your Gator data but for the Help key you need to be connected to the internet.
I utilize Gator for my yahoo and hotmail accounts. The Gator Login Helper will appear and click the button to have the password entered into the location you are entering. I tend to type quickly and open a few windows when I come online. The problem I have with Gator is with my yahoo email program. If I am in another window when the enter password appears for the yahoo I miss the Gator window and tend to forget my passwords. I try a password and click on to login. Well good old Gator comes along and wants to know if he should store this password. I cannot login to this email account until I give Gator an answer. I try to close the window and it will not allow me to do this. Since I am never sure if this is the right password I do the alt/control and delete to close the screen.
What works best for me is to go to the yahoo account and wait for Gator , login and then open another window. The same happened when I went to the sitemeter website. It took so long to load and wait that I did not use the Gator for this address.
Under the Settings option, I click on the Manage icon and see the websites, login email address with the passwords noted by xxxxx. Here you can remove or cancel any of these websites. This is a good tool to remember all the programs you have signed on for and the various free email programs utilizing.
For Epinions use Gator offers to give my password for signing in and when changing my profile data. It could get annoying seeing those Gator eyes all the time but I tend to tune them out when surfing the internet and save those of interest Gator offers.
I have changed my credit card information on orders with just a click on the icon. Gator is a part of my daily cruising and entering sites on the internet for my personal use. I have no experience for using Gator for a business but the option to advertise with Gator seems to cover a wide range of fields and might get some added revenue from the Gator .
Gator saves time searching for credit cards or trying to recall the password for that program you joined six months ago. There is nothing more aggravating stopping in the middle of an order to grab your wallet for the credit card, enter the information and there goes your connection. This enhances the speedy check out that is offered at many online stores.
While you always have the option to have your lost/forgotten password emailed to you, using Gator takes under five seconds to enter the program you are seeking to use. This causes less stress in gaining immediate access to the location instead of losing your train of thought or avoiding the website for lack of interest or time restraints.
Gator is not compatible with Macintosh. The browsers able to utilize Gator are Internet Explorer, Netscape and AOL. The help feature will offer more guidance as to which version is needed.
The drop/drag feature is available for those websites that Gator does not frequent. By clicking on the icon you can drag the data from the stored box and enter into the system you are visiting.
