| Suzer's Full Review: Orange Glo Everyday Cleaning Kit 860494 |
Orange Glo is made by the Oxi Clean people which I find a positive. Needless to say, I wanted to find an effective good smelling cleaning product for my house. I am okay with the products I'd used prior to a bad experience with a product called Simple Green (please see review if you wish), but wasn't excited about them. The idea of my house smelling like it is infused with oranges sounded appealing to me (with several animals I wanted to detract from the litter box, kitty and dog smells). I also was intrigued by the infomercials on the product. I wondered if it was as good as it seemed. So, I bit the bullet, and purchased the kit which included the following:
* Orange Glo - 32 ounce bottle
* Orange Clean Super-concentrate - 16 ounce bottle
* Spray bottle for the Orange Clean super-concentrate
I separately had purchased the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner.
Their Claims:
They claim that their products are strong degreasers, cleaners, and are made with pure orange oil and strong cleaning agents. While it would be good to see the actual ingredients, at least they spell it out, and provide a sufficient warning. They state the concentrate and cleaner are great for cleaning counters, appliances, bathrooms.
The Experience:
I have found all of their cleaning products are extremely effective, they've removed finger prints, made my kitchen/appliances sparkle. The wood cleaner absolutely blew me away, making my wood shinier than I remember it being when I first purchased my furniture. The orange scent to me is appealing, though a lighter citrus smell would be even more so, but I'll address that later in the review.
Pros:
I think the Orange Glo products are very effective cleaners and degreasers, and the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner and Polish is amazing. While this is a potent product kit, they do provide a spray bottle, which clearly tells you the product is strong, and to be careful if using full strength, or to dilute it.
Cons:
If someone does not enjoy the full blown smell of oranges, this might not be the product for them, as it may seem overwhelming. You will need to use caution with your kids and pets. Additionally, while there are various deals on the Orange Glo kits, and the larger kits are more cost effective, they are still more costly than their competitors.
Final Conclusions: Orange Glo or??:
Orange Glo in my opinion has wonderfully effective cleaning products. For me they worked much better than some others such as Simple Green, and without the negative reactions. I recommend Orange Glo, and give the Orange Glo Kit 4 stars.
If you however, are looking for a very effective cleaning product with a milder citrus scent, and it is important to you that you have cleaning products safe for your children and pets, non-toxic, and hypo-allergenic, (NO ANIMAL TESTING) I then recommend Sun and Earth Products (laundry detergent, liquid soap, dish detergent, All purpose cleaner, and their brand new terrific glass cleaner). Both Orange Glo products, and the Sun and Earth products can be easily ordered online. Sun and Earth has their own website and offers a Sampler kit, and Epinions lists companies offering very good deals on Orange Glo Kits. If you have questions, please feel free as always to email me.
Note: I have edited this review removing most of the comparison to Simple Green, as that has now been added to the database. Please see the review on that if interested.
Happy Cleaning and thanks for reading!
