| pamelita3099's Full Review: Cooking.com 8" Pyro Guard Potholder |
Two of the many accessory purchases we have made for our outdoor grill are the Pyro Guard Pot Holder and the Pyro Guard BBQ Mitt. My husband is a mitt man but I am a potholder kind of girl. The Pyro Guard Potholder is highly heat resistant, easy to clean and made in the U.S.A., all major plusses in this Southern girl’s eyes.
ABOUT THE POT HOLDER
The Pyro Guard Potholder can take the heat like no other potholder. It is constructed of 100% cotton and coated with a highly heat resistant sealant. This makes the Pyro Guard Pot Holder the ideal choice for outdoor grilling and for handling those hot cast iron pans and other oven pans. The material is pliant; this makes it easy to work with when handling odd shaped pans or handles.
The Pyro Guard Potholder is 8” by 8” and features a diamond stitch pattern on a dark charcoal gray material. It is edged with silver gray material and has a small hoop of material at on corner to allow the potholder to be hung on a hood or small nail. The stitching is heavy duty and after several uses has not frayed at all.
I personally like the neutral color and diamond pattern of this potholder. I don’t feel my husband would appreciate a mitt with fluffy white kittens or dancing teddy bears. The Pyro Guard Potholder gets a high score from my husband because of its simplistic design and heat resistance and if it makes him happy then it makes me happy as well.
CLEAN UP
The Pyro Guard Potholder is a breeze to clean. Simply take a damp sponge or rag and wipe the sealant surface. It wipes off easily with no hassles in my experience.
The company recommends that the user not wash the Pyro Guard Potholderin the washing machine. It can damage the heat resisting sealant.
Made in the U.S.A.! !
The Pyro Guard Potholderis available through www.cooking.com for about four dollars. This is a good price because I paid five and a half dollars for mine at a kitchen accessory store in Thousand Oaks, CA.
OVERALL
I have really enjoyed using the Pyro Guard Potholder. It is highly heat resistant due to the special sealant used on the cotton material and it is so easy to clean. I would recommend this potholder to anyone who loves to grill outdoors or anyone who works with cast iron cookeware. It would also be a great tool for people who love to bake simply because it is very heat resistant.
Happy Shopping!
