I began shopping for a new mattress when the waterbed I had for 15 years sprung a leak. I was leery of changing to a traditional innerspring and had heard some adverts from Select Comfort. I went to my local Select Comfort store and decided I liked the 5000 model but, I didn't like the price. I did some surfing on the net and found the Comfortaire brand. It seemed comparable in quality to the Select Comfort 5000. It had better fabric for the cover, a thicker air chamber but I was told the standard pump was slightly noisier than the Select Comfort. I figured I wouldn't be re-adjusting that often so for the savings, I could live with a little noise. Now the question was, "Where do I buy it?". I searched several internet sites and found a few who seemed comparable not only in price, but in return policy, warranty, service etc. I sent an e-mail to one dealer asking the price of a pump 'upgrade'. The following day I found myself here at epinions reading about other peoples experiences with the Comfortaire bed. I noticed one dealer, nationwidemattress.com was mentioned in several reviews. Folks seemed really happy with their commitment to quality and service at a reasonable price. I checked out their website and found the price on the Cal King Cerulean I was interested in to be the same as the dealer I had sent my 'upgrade' inquiry to the previous day. I decided to place my order with nationwidemattress.com.
The following day I got an answer to my 'upgrade' question from the other dealer and included was an offer of a discounted price. I thought I remembered something on nationwidemattress.com's site about price matching. I called them and spoke with Richard. He explained their policy and told me he would need to check it out and would either call or send an email with the results. I half expected they would find some loop hole, so you can imagine my surprise when I received a confirmation of the credit applied to my order that same evening. It is refreshing to find a company that is so above board and willing to back up their claims with action. I haven't yet received my bed but if it is as good as nationwidemattress.com's customer service, I will be overjoyed.
