I was mistaken when I wrote this review. It is in fact possible to put one HD and one CD on the single IDE cable and load your OS that way. I've done this on several of these machines now. I've even installed to CF cards plugged into the motherboard as the primary IDE with the CD as the secondary. However I do this using a second power supply for the CD and obviously the case does not support the permanent mounting of a CD drive. I install the OS with the cover off, then put it back on after installing and removing the CD drive.
