I shopped long and hard for a Personal Digital Assistant that had all of the features I wanted without the huge price tag. I found it in the Palm 505. This purchase is my first stab at utilizing a PDA to organize my business and personal life into one nice, neat little package. I have owned my 505 for about two weeks now, and can say that using this little gadget is something that I look forward to each day!
While shopping for this item, I knew there were certain features that I was not willing to compromise on. Most important to me was a color LCD. Having had an opportunity to play with PDA's at my local electronics stores, it became obvious immediately that the standard B&W screens were simply too difficult to read. On the other hand, my budget was such that shelling out $350 or more for the "cadillac" model was simply out of the question. The Palm 505 offers a nice middle ground.
I have yet to discover how limiting the mere 8MB of memory might be, as I have no need for fancy software at this time. My basic needs are covered completely with the 8MB at this time (including over 250 names, numbers and a very busy date book schedule). One bonus would be the option to add additional memory should my needs change in the future.
I am off and running with my new Palm m505, and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordale alternative to the Palm m515 or similar high end PDA. It has a user friendly "desktop", sharp colors and simple installation process. Even with a mere 8MB of memory, I feel it has everything that the average user could want -- with a great price to match.
