Pros: Small size, no CDs, HUGE hard drive,
Cons: I guess the LCD is kinda small, but definitely not a big deal
The Bottom Line: I am serious. You will not regret buying this unit. I LOVE it. I loved my old MP3 CD player, and this blows it away.

Man, I love this thing. Remember while reading this - I basically only use this in my car.
Ok, I used to have a Philips Expandium MP3 CD player. I got it about a year and a half ago. I really liked it, but there were some major drawbacks.
1. No backlit display.
2. Capacity of a CD is limited.
3. Navigation between songs/albums was kinda difficult because everything was done by numbers, not track/folder names.
4. No ID3 tag or playlist support (or even filename support).
5. I'm sure there are other things I'm forgetting.
I didn't want to buy a hard drive unit back then because they just weren't big enough (capacity-wise) and they cost a fortune.
Well, recently I saw reviews for the Nomad Jukebox and it seemed ideal. Finally enough space that I could fit all my music with a lot of room to grow. And the price has come down tremendously. So I looked around and I discovered that the Archos Jukebox has actually gotten much better reviews. I was THIS close to buying the Nomad.
I shopped around the Internet and ended up getting one for under $200 shipped. I LOVE it. The backlit display is great, it shows me filenames, etc. Navigation is easy. It is very small. It seems quite durable. It was cheaper than the Nomad. It is quite easy to use with the USB (even though I have old USB, it supports USB 2.0, which is supposed to be much faster). It hooks up to the computer as if it's another hard drive. Very easy. You can even put regular files on it like it is just another hard drive! Funny thing is, this is about 3 times bigger than my poor old computer's drive.
I have a marketing degree, and we learned in school that nearly 95% of all consumer purchases are followed by at least slight buyer's remorse (oh, I could have gotten a better deal, there are better products out there, I didn't really need this, etc.). With this purchase, I had no remorse. I have never wanted so badly to recommend a product to others.
PS. The sound is very good and the included headphones are pretty good too. As I said, I use it in my car with a standard cheapo cassette adapter and it sounds great! I don't know about the batteries yet, as I've only been using it with a car charger I bought, so battery life doesn't really matter to me. But I have read that the battery life is excellent.
