Pros: Good value for money, USB connectivity, great software. Cons: Low resolution, cheap construction, ONLY works with Windows 98.
You betcha it can! I'd been thinking of buying a cheap digital camera just for fun after having access to several higher end models. It seems the little pocket sized Aiptek Pencam Trio digital camera has been a very popular Christmas present for...
Pros: Inexpensive, tiny, fast USB connection, alright for a just-for-fun camera. Cons: falls over in stand, flimsy plastic body, poorly designed in many ways
After reading the rave reviews of this product here in Epinions.com, I picked this up as a possible Christmas gift for my 18-year old little sister. She loves taking pictures of herself and her friends and plastering them all over her room. I had to...
Pros: Very easy to set up and use. Movie feature is "neat". Cons: Quality is poor, but ok for the price being paid. Low res isn't even worth using.
I was having some kind of holiday-ending panic attack this weekend, and decided to go spend some money (that always helps, doesn't it?). I had heard about the Aiptek Pencam Trio through Aiptek's web site, and since I don't own a camcorder, thought it...
Pros: Cheap, Easy to use, USB, Great softwarepackage, Small, Trio (Digital camera, camcorder and webcam) Cons: No Flash, No Zoom, No lense cover,
Not that robust
If you plan to buy a digital camera, and don't want to spend a lot of money this camera might be just right for you. As long as you are aware of its limitations it works well and comes with a good softwarepackage.
Pros: small, light weight, easy to download pictures Cons: no flash, instruction book confusing
When I took my first picture, the quality blew me away. I was pleasantly surprised at how clear, the picture was. The color was good, but certainly not 35 millimeter quality, but good enough for email, and showing the picture to others.
Pros: portable, fun, easy to use Cons: lo light capabilities not as good as would have hoped
I bought this Camera after seeing it a few times at my local Electronics Boutique.. after talking to the salesperson, who told me he had tried the cam and wasn't impressed.. I figured I'd give it a go... I like the size of the cam, and that it does get...
Pros: Lightweight, easy to operate, high resolution photos Cons: Gee, no flash for shots in dark
Remember those old James Bond flicks where James would be given a pen that was really a camera? Well, forget the movies, Q must work for Aiptek now. This camera, really just a memory stick with a lens and a pocket clip, gives the user a lightweight...
Pros: fun, small, light, easy to use, inexpensive Cons: needs good lighting for perfect pictures
I saw this camera in the new Nieman-Marcus catalog and had to have it. The next day I went down to a local store and got the clerk to pull it out of the back room. I immediately started playing with it finding out it's strong and weak features. ...
Pros: Cheap, portable, inconspicuous, possible to install on 2000 Cons: 26 frames does not a video make!
My father bought himself a new pc and got a webcam with it. This meant that his AIPTEK webcam which he had bought previously was up for grabs. This was good.
My joy soon turned to frustration when I realised that the cd supplied was not going...
Pros: Size. Common Battery. Weight. Ease. Idea. Cons: So So Image Quality. Battery dead=lost pictures.
This little Aiptek Camera is another addition to my arsenal of "toys". It was a Xmas present to me, and to tell you the truth, I did not even know that it was on the market.
The size and ease are the most important qualities to me. I am an...
I received this camera from my mother in law for Christmas. I initially thought that it would be a valuable tool to use in my practice. My thoughts were soon changed.
The unit is a handy size and childishly simple to operate, but the images...
I received the Pen Cam as a gift and it has not left my pocket since. Small, compact, and lightweight, the camera is everything it claims to be. The Camera is extremely easy to work. Just install the software, point, and click.
Pros: Small size, cheap price high capacity Cons: Low resolution, software is weak.
The small, inexpensive Pencam Trio is not intended to be a high resolution digital camera. It is supposed to be a small, cheap resolution digital camera! That being said, you know what you are getting.
Pros: Compact size, has its own mini stand when needed. Cons: Crappy Battery life, cant take pics in a poorly lighted room
Yeah I know, I should stop buying stuff featured on the Home shopping network. It always looks so good when they are showing it on tv. Well I think after buying 3 cameras I have finally learned my lesson. At least this camera has lasted more than a...
Pros: Small, easy to use and fun! Cons: No carrying case, no flash
My husband and I bought this pen cam because of the low price. We bought it on a shopping channel for 79.00. The minute it arrived in the mail we ripped it open and filled it with batteries and haven't stopped using it. It is so handy to have and it is...
Pros: lightweight, easy to use, inexpensive Cons: no flash, image quality acceptable but not great
Like many others, I also have a very good digital camera (an Olympus 2500). It takes superb pics and I use it a great deal. However, the idea of an inexpensive, very portable camera was too hard for this gadget freak to resist. I paid $80 for it and...
Pros: Small, fits in pocket can Cons: No flash, also stops working after a week
I can honestly say this is "was" a terrific buy. My mom surprised me with this gift early for Christmas, the post man delivered a small box my mom claimed to be a Chiapet, and kept going on about how it was to grow when you water it, I at the...
Pros: Small,Easy,Durable,Inexpensice, And Just Cool Cons: No Flash, No Lens Cover
This Camera Is Like Something You Would See In A 007 Movie.
This Camera Would Be Great As A Gift Or To Buy For Yourself, It Produces Good Pics In Bright Conditions.
The Aiptek pen CAM Is A Great Beginner Digital Camera And Would Be Great...
Pros: Small, lightweight, inexpensive Cons: Cheaply made of thin plastic.
Received the pencam as a Christmas present. After reading the manual I was excited about taking some pictures. I loaded the software that came with the pencam and decided to connect to computer instead of wasting the batteries. When I plugged the USB...
This camera is not good. I am returning mine since I have no use for it. The low cost and portability are its only good points. These good points are overshadowed by it terrible image quality. It is not worth using since most of the photos will come out...
Pros: it's portable Cons: Its resolution is really bad
This is another product that does everything, but does them badly. I wish they would have focused on one thing to redeem it. But the quality of the video and so called "still" images is so bad, nobody would bear to show them off. You get a tiny little...
After buying this little gizmo for $89.00 I figured what the heck, lets try it out! WOW!! it's little, lightweight, and easy to use. I carry it in my pocket and must say it is way cool! Pictures are clear and robust in color. 80 pictures in high res. The...
Pros: light weight , hold in palm of hand Cons: needs light, batteries need replacing often
I bought this camera from a home shopping ad on tv. It has a lot of possibilities. I haven't learned all the basic functions yet. The instructions were not very explanatory enough for me. It's fun and easy to use. The batteries (2ea.3AAA) don't last very...
Pros: expense wise it's great! It's also a nice size to carry around . Cons: found that it's really picky about how you take a picture.
not happy with it because it was hard to figure out how to be able to take a good photo. After taking 80 pictures and only being able to save 3 I just don't think the percentage is all that great. just for fun is fine but won't rely on it for any...
Pros: small and good pictures Cons: no sound, no flash
I purchased 4 of these cameras from a Home Shopping Club at $79.00 each - 1 for myself and 3 for presents.. To look at them you would think it was right out of James Bond movie. Since it is my "other" digital camera I only have that to compare...
Pros: small, looks cool, sounds cool, comes with batteries :) Cons: quality sucks big time. bad software
Ok, I work in a department store and I saw the camera come in one day so I thought I'd give it a try. I bought it and took it home one day and I tried taking some pictures with it. For one, the dll that comes with it to view pictures kept crashing every...
Software is terrible, documentation is... by knippd_dt3000 ,Dec 29 '02
Software is terrible, documentation is worse. Does not work with Yahoo Messenger (and not supported, Yahoo offers regedit work around, which did not work), because does not offer 160X120 or 320X240. Purchased for use with Y-Messenger. Who knows what else it does not work with?
i thought it is far better picture quality than logitec and many others out there for web cam use. digital pictures are ok but cant compare to a real digital camera costing 5X the price
dont like that the usb cord is not fixed to camera. at times the usb cord would fall out. i am actually buying my second camera after about 2 1/2 years because the usb connector for cam doesnt work anymore (pins inside are messed up)

I have enjoyed this little cam except for thier not being a flash for dark places. Also could not make pictures bigger as they would blur out.
Other then that have enjoyed it and had fun with it.Also have been able to use it with Hotmail messenger, netmeeting, and Yahoo messenger.
