Pros: Much clearer than the antennae and cable. Cheaper than cable.
Cons: Waited 15 min to get rep for service. No local news in my area so keep an antennae.

| kevin.wise's Full Review: EchoStar 3720 Dish Network System |
We purchased this system for my father and it is still working great since December of 1999!
I am a large dish owner, and think this is a good substitute. It is a scaled down version of the costly huge dish in the yard, and the rip-offindependentnoncustomerservicemindedmonopolistic cable company.
I installed the dish, and receiver in about an hour (I did use and read the instructions). The routing of cable took much longer so I would not cause an unsightly installation, and I didn't use the old cable (you should NOT). Cable is included in the installation package, and shouldn't be substituted. It is supposedly a better quality cable that will not lose as much reception. The most difficult task was aiming the dish (USE the compass to get the best idea where to place it, move the dish SLOWLY right and left, tighten the screws to all but the arm, and do use the aiming notches) It was so simple, and I had been afraid that I may not have the view through the trees, but it worked out much better than my large dish had.
The programming is cheap only 19.99 and there is a lot to see if you want more on the Dish network. To get the service started I spent a bit of time on hold, but was nearly immediate when I talked to the service person!
If you are new to the dish... the remote is the only upgrade that may be worth while. Otherwise stick with the basic system 2710 and you will be pleased with the single LNB.
