Fujifilm Waterproof Camera: Underwater fun for the Whole Family!!

Dec 25 '00

Hi there, how is it going?? They epinion people do not have this camera listed and there recommend a product section is down but I really wanted to share this epinion with you all so here goes.....

Have you ever been swimming in the ocean when you suddenly felt the urge to take a picture of the great white that was hunting you down but couldn’t because you didn’t have the proper camera? Have you failed to capture Uncle tom, Dick or Harry losing his trunks while doing a belly flop off the diving board into your pool all because you didn’t have a proper camera??

Well folks, if you do as I did(or as my sister and brother-in-law did for me) and purchase a Fujifilm QuickSnap Waterproof Camera you will never miss a moment of waterfront action again. I will discuss the features, quality and general comments of the QuickSnap Waterproof Camera in this epinion. I will mention I got this as a gift and I it cost about $20.00.

1. Features:

-Comes loaded with 800 ISO high speed film

-35mm Single use recyclable Camera

-27 shots/exposures

-Waterproof up to 5meters deep

-Focus free lens

2. Quality:

This is an excellent camera for taking photos of outdoor activities, marine sports and if your from the great white north the manufacturers say you can use it to take shots while skiing. They claim it works great in all light conditions be it cloudy, sunny, or partially cloudy .( or eclipse conditions (hahah) and they are correct but there is no flash on this camera so don’t use it in at night. I used this camera to take pictures at a pool party and I was very happy with the results. I took underwater shots, above water shots and a combo of the two(don’t ask!!). Anyway, the pictures were clear and sharp. I had never used a waterproof camera but I was impressed. I also saw pictures from my friends trip to Hawaii. They took some amazing shots of the underwater variety, which showed just how clear the water really is!! I was jealous.

The camera is enclosed in a protective casing which enhances its durability. I dropped, shook and kicked mine and the camera was fine. I don’t recommend you follow that path but I essentially put it through the ringer and the ringer lost!!

3. General Comments:

The QuickSnap Waterproof Camera works best according to the manufacturers when shooting from at least or as close(depending how you look at it) from 1 meter away. In fact there are instructions on the back of the camera which indicate that when under water you should shoot on bright and sunny days at a distance of 1 to 3 meters. When just shooting outdoors they say shoot from at least 1meter away with the sun behind you for best results

It is very easy to use, you simply wind and hold the camera, press the shutter release to take the picture and that’s it!! It is light weight and compact weighing (less than a handful of pennies!!) yet it is a solid camera it is put together well and the camera is sealed tightly in waterproof protective casing. Fuji recommends keeping suntan lotion away from the camera lens for the best results and warn that the lotion could discolour the casing(I think there trying to avoid a lawsuit with that disclaimer !! hahah)

Overall, I think any Annie Leibowitz wannabee or even Annie herself will be happy with the results of the QuickSnap Waterproof Camera. The pictures are clear and sharp, it is easy and it allows you to bring a camera where almost no camera has gone before!!
