Lyra, Not worth a Tryra....
Dec 17 '00
I'm a mom of a teenager, and I try to keep up on the "cool" stuff, so of course I got my son an MP3 player so he could download music..well, I didn't JUST get it for him, I was planning to use it too..
My son can work a computer, really he can, (he's 14), and so can his mom, but when we hooked up the Lyra player to our computer, we got to the web sites and all, but it WOULDN'T DOWNLOAD!! We followed the directions to the LETTER, and still, no go... Maybe we're no Einsteins, but this technology should be easier. Maybe we got a bad player, but I just think that the directions in the booklet were confusing; not only to my son, but to me, as well.
The player IS cool looking, and comes with some songs already on it, so you can listen to a sample, and I must say that I REALLY WISH we could've made it work, because from the samples I heard, it's a great little machine, (has a cute blue light, too), and would've been fantastic on my daily walks (it's REALLY portable), if only we could've made it work....Another thing my son told me is that on one of the sites he tried to download from, Mp3.com, I think, he really couldn't find any music he WANTED to download. I think he said most of the music was "old" and "wack", in his words...
I'm all for new technology, but I think these little gadgets should come all ready to go...I mean, if they can make the damn thing that small, they should also be able to make it so that you can just plug it in and go...at least, that's what the packaging said it would do..........
