| Cope's Full Review: Boston Acoustics 5" 2-Way Speaker CX8 |
I was looking for good quality speakers. I had 5x7” speakers in the rear of my truck from the factory, and I was looking for a high quality replacement of the same size. I’m a big fan of Boston Acoustics, and I had a set of BA CX3s in the dash, so I turned to them again to help me. What I ended up with was a pair of CX8s. They were the size I wanted, and at $120 a pair, relatively cheap considering the quality.
I had no trouble installing them, or the bass blockers that I installed with them. They can take 120 watts of power, but I’m only sending about 40 to them because I don’t have an amp. A lot of speakers with high power ratings don’t sound very good if you don’t send them high amounts of power. Not so with the CX8s. They sound great with the power I’m sending them, delivering clean and crisp sound. I’ve had them for over a year now, and I’ve never had a problem with them.
