| jgold1's Full Review: Houston Cellular Mobile Phone Service in Houston |
When I started my cell phone service it was with AT&T. They sold this service to Houston Cellular. I had the option of choosing another server or staying with Houston Cellular. I opted to stay. It has good and bad points.
Good points: I like their all in one program. I use the 600 minutes per month for one basic price. This includes all calls throughout the entire country. There are no roaming charges and no long distance charges. Since I do a lot of calling outside my area, this is a good plan for me. The 600 minutes is sufficient for my needs. I have not had any trouble with their billing. They have been fair and honest with charges. Of course this is easy since I have never gone over my 600 minutes.
Bad points: Basically there is one bad point. There are not enough towers to serve the areas I call from. I find it very annoying to be trying to talk to someone and the reception is so poor the conversation consists of "are you there?" "can you hear me?" This happens more often than good reception.
I would recommend Houston Cellular, but I hope that they will improve their service areas in the near future.
