DVD Technology is the standard!

DVD technology is fast becoming the standard for movie viewing and software production. VHS, CDs, CDI, and CD_ROM, will all become technologies of the past, outdated and incompatible.
Now, the reasons why DVD technology is better:
Better Picture Quality: Viewing a DVD compared to a VHS is like night and day or more suitably the difference between black and white and color TV. The clarity of color and the the high resolution trounce any VHS tape. Additional features include frame by frame play with no distortion and zooming on many DVD players without distortion (a feature no VCR has.)PAUSE is truly pause, it will wait at that point in the movie until you tell it to go on. I havent seen a VCR yet that doesnt either stop or start to play again after about 5 minutes. DVD picture quality is even better than in the movie theaters (though this will change with Star War Episode 2 as George Lucas is going all digital with this film. He's using a new Sony Digitial Video Camera, I cant wait to see this one.) And most DVD's have BOTH widescreen and fullscreen versions on the SAME DVD!
Better Sound Quality: Dolby Digital, DTS, Surround Sound, AC3 Decoders, you name it, DVD has it. Do you remember the Sprint TV advertisement where they drop the pin and you hear a crystal clear ringing? Well, DVD works like that and even better. If you have a 5-6 speaker set-up with a sub-woffer you can make the whole house reverberate!
Price: This is probably the best feature of all! Most DVDs can now be purchased from online stores for the same or even LESS THAN VHS tapes. Some of the sites to check out that have excellent deals are EBAY.COM, REEL.COM, EXPRESS.COM and MOBSHOP.COM.
