Run out of Party Ideas.. do a Wine Tasting Party!

Believe it or not, my church group did a wine tasting party and it was
a big hit! Our adult social group was running out of ideas for
get togethers and someone came up with this idea.
This is how we organized it. Everyone was to bring three things:
a bottle of wine they enjoyed (any type); a brick of cheese, and
a box of crackers! The hostess had to supply glasses (lots) and the
house. The fine hostess we had also supplied some fruit and water to
refresh your palate.
We set the wine up at a big table and each person could try whatever they liked. Cheese was spread around the few rooms we gathered in. The hostess said it was one of the easiest parties she every threw! Discussion at first centered around the different wines, and our favorites, but soon moved on to other things. Those who did not like
to drink wine (for various reasons) were welcome to bring non-alcoholic
wine or other beverages. Some of the non alcoholic wines are quite good.
I would recommend this kind of party for those groups that are running
out of ideas... because this one is a winner.
