| Rasputin45's Full Review: Motley Fool Message Boards |
The Motley Fool (which I mistakenly thought was some kind of a takeoff on Motley Crue) is a fantastic website to learn the basics of investing. It is the only site that can explain how stocks work, how to buy them, and how to know what to buy in plain English that any Joe off the street can understand.
But once you learn the basics, you spend most of the time in discussion on the message boards. I have found that the boards at the Fool, although refined and quite without the vulgarities present in other boards (ahem, YAHOO, excuse me,) are often so tame they don't offer any real discussion or insights, right or wrong.
They're worth checking out once a week or so to digest any new information, but that's about it in my opinion.
