Pros: LARGE GAME LIBRARY! Cons: Inferior to the Colecovision which with its addon assimulated the Atari 2600 game library.
Though I never actually had this game system I did have the Addon module to the Colecovision which allowed me to play all the Atari 2600 games.
The Atari had some advantages... a vast library of games. The sound on some games was really good...

Pros: It will never get old Cons: Some of the games or just too fun.
Now, I'm a young-in. And I didn't grow up playing the Atari 2600! I grew up playing the Super Nintendo! But my family still had this system lying around in the closet, and I managed to get it hooked up and working.

Pros: best joysticks Cons: ton of bad games
If the Atari 2600 was unsuccessful at being the most popular system of the 1970's, it would still get acknowledge for its excellent joysticks. They, by far, had the best most comfortable controller.
