What I am about to tell you is my experience in trying to get one of these for my kids for Christmas. I have put my hands on one and played it for a short time. But enough to tell it is still a very good product. Well, The retail stores did it again. What is that you ask? They went and advertised a product, got everyone in an uproar over it. Then you go to the store to find out that there is 200 people or more waiting ahead of you. Just for 50 or so of these products.
What the stores did earlier this year was give the customers a chance to pay for their play station in advance. They didn't advertise this, just like they didn't advertise that they won't play all DVD movies. They trap people into buying this and you don't find out til after you purchase it. By the time you find out it is to late. If you don't like it then you have to waste the time and bring it back. So what about all the time that you wasted in line and the gas to bring it back, they don't care. That still only leaves a few left for actual customers who waited in line for one. Why didn't they get enough extras for all the customers. They are always doing this.
Doesn't this get you mad every store is sold out. Can't these manufacturers get it right by now! When they have a popular toy why, can't they stock the shelves with an abundant amount of products, to please the consumer instead if getting them mad and frustrated.
There is nothing worse than your kid seeing a toy that they want for Christmas, and then not being able to get it because of the manufacturer will not be able to produce enough to stock everyone's shelves.
I will bet that these people have never looked into their childrens eyes and have them describe the toy that they want for Christmas. Their eyes and face light up with excitement. Their eyes get really big and open up wide. The smile on their face is so big, and the joy in their voice when they tell you about it. This is enjoyment, when you see your kids at their best.
But this is spoiled by some manufacturer who doesn't make enough toys to satisfy all the kids. Plus, they are not able to restock the shelves in time for Christmas. What do you tell your kids then? How do you explain supply and demand? How do you put that smile back on their faces.
To come home empty handed, and knowing that I am not going to be able to full fill my kids wishes. For some people this is the only day that they try their hardest to make all of their kids wishes come true. But this year I will have to go elsewhere, unless they restock their shelves or something spectacular happens.
I saw the line when I went to the store and wondered what it was about. And I had hoped it was not what I was seeking to get my kids for Christmas. And guess what they were all ready sold out. All they had left was a steering wheel accessory for this game. But what good is that without the game.
I have seen and used this Playstation for a short while. It is the best that I have ever seen. The graphics is of excellent quality. I did not think that they could make the old one any better, but they did. Their are a lot of excellent things about this new one, but the one thing that they don't advertise is the fact that you can't play all DVD movies, just certain ones. To tell which movies you can play you have to look at the labels for a certain number. You can only play discs that conform to NTSC broadcasts standards. As to audio cds, you can play them as you did on Playstation one, as the controller as your remote. You can also play all of you old games on this one.
Playstation 2 has released over 30 games with it. This new one you can either place it in the vertical or horizontal position. If you wish to put it in the vertical position you must purchase a stand that is of course sold separately. Next year they are supposed to come out with a way to down load music and a way to kind of do some networking with people in other states, so that you can play games long distance.
This console doesn't come with much just one Dual shock controller, and a av cable, plus an ac power cord, And of course that ever popular five language manual. The Price for this is approx. $300.00. The warranty is for only 90 days, but I am sure that if you have any problems after that all you have to do is call them and they will help you out. They had better for that price.
Then if you want any games, WATCHOUT! The price for these range anywhere from 45 to 70 dollars. So if you wanted to buy 4 games. This Playstation will cost you over 500$. Is it worth all this. You could get away with just buying more of the old ones and using them.You must really think is it worth ditching PS1 to buy PS2? You can buy a lot of PS1 games for that kind of money.
This system comes equipped with a 128 bit CPU. A heck of a system with a fairly big memory, 32mb that is. The speed it runs at is outstanding. The graphics is even better yet. The best that I have seen, you can see the expressions on the peoples faces as if you were there in person. They have a very high screen resolution, and the sound quality of this system depends on how good your television set it.
There is an extra feature that is coming in the future and that is supposed to be a 3.5 hard disc drive extended unit and a DVD replay put into the console. Plus you don't have to use the memory card. The new memory card that they sell can hold a lot more. As far as I know you can't use the old memory cards. You have to buy the new ones.
When I tried this one out I really liked what I saw. But I am wondering If it is worth all that money. I guess that if you have the money to spend it is ok. I will keep looking for one for my kids and try to surprise them for Christmas. I will not give up the search. I still have a little time before Christmas.
I would highly recommend this Playstation for all those PS1 people out there. Nothing really bad about except the price. Quality is excellent, and it looks like a giant amp for your car stereo. Has more of a futuristic look. There will be more add on's as time goes on.
