| m0thrgoose's Full Review: Scrabble for Windows |
I am a Scrabble lover from way back. Our family was so serious about our Scrabble playing that we bought the Super Deluxe version when I was around 10 years old. It featured a turntable base and had a raised plastic grid that kept the letters from sliding around. Boy, that game got a lot of use and I attribute my great spelling skills to the hours spent around a table with my family, Scrabble and a dictionary.
About a year ago a friend bought me the PC version and I have played this thing to death! Its best feature is that you can play it across the internet in private rooms (with friends) or public rooms. There are 5 skill levels so you wont get bored. You can also play the computer ( a big plus when you are learning how to play)and against friends at home. It has multiple settings for background scenery and music, and a built in dictionary. Is there anyone who HASN'T played this game before?? Well, just in case, I will give ya the basics; you blindly choose 7 tiles, each with a letter and that letters point value on it. You must make a word out of them and place it on the board, all the while trying to utilize such spaces as "Double Word Score" and "Triple Letter Score". After each play you draw more tiles, keeping a total of 7 in your hand and the next person plays their letters off of yours...and so on, and so on!
Give it a try if you like word games, you wont be disappointed.

I also recommend Upwords.... it is like Scrabble but with a twist!
