Gotta Buy Them All

Feb 07 '00

I agree with DnDn4Kidz, she was right when she said "Lighten up, this too shall pass". It's just one of those things like the pet rock when I was a kid. (that makes me old doesn't it) I buy the cards for my nine year old son. He wants to see if he can collect all 150 cards to match them with his poster on the wall. We use them as a reward. For every good grade, he gets a package of cards. I don't see the harm in it. He doesn't trade them with friends, or play the tournament games, he just likes the characters. I have to say that I like the names of them. Horsea, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Charmander, and all the rest. I didn't know at first that the cards have different codes on them. If there are certain symbols, they mean different things, like a diamond shape in the lower right hand corner of the card means something different than a circle in the same spot. I still can't keep it all straight, but my son can, and that's all that matters. If anyone is interested in what the symbols mean, don't ask an adult, ask the nearest nine year old, they can spend an hour telling you all about it, in depth.
