THEY HAVE ASTYLE ALL OF THEIR OWN!
Dec 16 '99
As a mother of two teenage girls I fell qualified to say that NOBODY can make accurate gift suggestions for teens. I was shopping in early November with my 16 year old daughter when she pointed out a "to die for" outfit. I went back to the store a few weeks later and happily purchased the outfit as her first Christmas gift. A week later we were in the same store again and she told me how the outfit was no longer in style. Only "geeks" would wear it. I reluctantly returned my purchase and exchanged it for a trendy scarf she had chosen. Last week we were in an exclusive department store and they carried the same scarf. I picked it up to check the price and asked my daughter what she thought of it. She replied that she no longer liked it. You can't win. This year I have purchased her gift certificates to several stores and activities, a new perfume and CD she requested and some cash. I have learned that teenagers are unpredictable and so are their tastes. It's almost impossible to keep up with the trends.
