Teenage shopping challenges*****
Dec 15 '99
Well, this is the year I have conquered the shopping madness for my two teen girls. I have one who still likes her dolls and crafts and kinda getting into makeup and nail stuff. The other one is into anything glow in the dark and 60's or 70's. Well, I have fought year after year stresses myself till i was sick trying to pick the perfect gifts for my girls, I have now found the secret.
#1. have them not only make one list but two lists. They will change there minds or come up with new things and my girls gift lost gets a little less expensive by the second list.
#2. Buying clothing, if you are a parent and you like they won't my husband and I now look for clothes neither of us like and it is sure fire that they will like it. We have proof.
#3. Crafts kids always like to make stuff be it boys or girls. Girls have all kinds of craft sets to chose from such as candle set and earrings and key chains and of course those loop rugs. Boys have models of lots of different things and then there is the 3d puzzles, lots of things for kids to make.
#4. Teach them the real meaning of the holidays. That giving can be as rewarding if not more so. Me and the girls every year either make cookies for the nursing homes or adopt and angel off the angel trees and buy gifts for the needy something to share the joy of the holidays.
#5. Most of all give them something personal just for them something you have made maybe an award for best teen or best helper something to show you have really put in thought of how much of a gift that having them really is.
well, this is my 5 things from a mom who loves my girls and loves seeing those smiles.
