What is the Smart Shopper Club?

The Smart Shopper Club is Shopping.com's membership program. Smart Shopper Club members are automatically enrolled in the Cash Back program and receive other exclusive benefits. Epinions is a part of the Shopping.com family, and members of one site are automatically members of the other. Learn more.

How do I join the Smart Shopper Club?

Shopping.com's Smart Shopper Club is completely free and is included with Epinions membership. If you are not a member of Epinions, you can join by clicking here or clicking the "Join Epinions" link in the top right corner of your screen. Becoming a member on one site automatically makes you a member of the other.

Can I get Cash Back from both Shopping.com and Epinions?

Yes, if you purchase something from an Epinions merchant with Cash Back and later buy something from a Shopping.com merchant with Cash Back, your Cash Back will be combined into one check.

Do I have to join Shopping.com?
|

If you have an Epinions ID, you are already a member of Shopping.com. You can use the same member name on Shopping.com that you already use on Epinions.

How do I see my Cash Back and account information?

To see your Cash Back balance and other account information, sign into your member account using your email address or Epinions ID and your password. Sign In.

When will I see a Cash Back purchase confirmed in my member account?
|

Once the store processes your purchase and sends us confirmation, we will immediately send you notification via email and update your Cash Back balance. At that time, you will see your Cash Back purchase appear in your member account.
Most Cash Back purchases confirm within 48 hours. However, it is possible for confirmation to take up to 30 days. While some stores are able to report a purchase to us as soon as the product ships, others cannot confirm a purchase until the return period for the product has elapsed.
If a Cash Back purchase you made more than 30 days ago has not appeared in your account summary, please contact Customer Support.

How do I find Cash Back offers on Epinions?

Look for green Cash Back offers under the prices of the items that you are shopping for. You will find Cash Back offers in almost every category on Epinions.

Why didn't I get Cash Back on a purchase with a Cash Back offer?
|
| |
You may get Cash Back on a purchase only if you are a member of the Smart Shopper Club, you are signed in at the time of your purchase and you began shopping from the Epinions Web site. This means you must click from Epinions to the participating store's Web site prior to purchasing the item for which Cash Back is offered. A purchase would not qualify for a Cash Back offer for any of the following reasons:- If you did not click to the participating store's Web site from Epinions prior to completing the purchase.
- If you clicked to a participating store's Web site, then surfed elsewhere on the Web and then returned to the participating store to complete the purchase.
- If you used multiple browser windows and the window in which you completed your purchase at the participating store did not originate from Epinions.
- If you were not logged in to your Epinions account when you completed your purchase.

Do all purchases I make through Epinions qualify for Cash Back?

No. Only stores that have a Cash Back offer listed under the price are eligible for Cash Back. Epinions is regularly adding more stores to the Cash Back program.

What's the catch? How does Epinions make money?

There is no catch! As a service to our members, Epinions has negotiated with top stores to offer special Cash Back discounts. Epinions makes money through referral relationships with the stores listed on our site and by selling advertising. Epinions and the Cash Back program are always free to our users.

How do I qualify for Cash Back offers?

To qualify for Cash Back, you must be a member of Epinions and be signed in while shopping on Epinions. You must begin your purchase at Epinions prior to buying at the store's Web site. If you do not start from Epinions prior to making a purchase at the store Web site, your purchase will not qualify for the Cash Back offer.

How will I receive my Cash Back?

Cash Back checks will be sent on a quarterly basis to the address we have on file for your Income Share distribution.

What if I don't have an address on file?

Your Cash Back will accumulate in your account until you provide an address. To edit your address:- Sign in to your account using your email address or Epinions ID and your password.
- Go to your Member Profile by clicking the link to your account in the top right corner of the page
- Look for the link to "Update Member Info" in the "Account Options" box in your Member Profile
- Update your mailing address in the form provided.

No, checks will be sent automatically to the address that you have on file with Epinions.

When will I receive my Cash Back?
|

Members receive their Cash Back in the form of a check every three months according to the time table below:

Example: If you made a Cash Back purchase that confirmed between July 1st and September 30th, the Cash Back amount would be included in the payment check mailed November 15th.
If your Cash Back balance totals $5.00 or more, a check will be sent to the address you enter in your membership account. If your Cash Back balance is $4.99 or less, it will roll over into the next quarter's balance. Your Cash Back balance is visible in your member account on Epinions. If you are signed in, you can also view your Cash Back balance on the home page or in your member account at Shopping.com.

No. Income Share and Cash Back are designed for fundamentally different purposes. Income Share is designed to reward Epinions members for writing reviews and Cash Back is designed to reward Epinions members for shopping on the site.

What happens if I return or cancel something I purchased that offered Cash Back?
|
| |
If you return or cancel an item that carried a Cash Back offer, Epinions would be notified by the store and then would deduct the related Cash Back amount from your Cash Back balance. Returns are subject to the return policy of the store from which you purchased.
Exchanges also make purchases ineligible for Cash Back. The reason for this is that in the process of making an exchange, the store cancels your old order and replaces it with the new one. The new order is considered to have been placed directly with the store and not through Epinions, thus making the order ineligible for Cash Back.
To avoid losing the Cash Back offer, return the original item, have the store refund your credit card, and then place an entirely new order through Epinions.

What are "cookies" and how do I enable them?

Cookies are simply text files that allow a site to recognize you when you return. This means that if cookies are enabled on your browser, you won't have to log in each time you come back to Epinions. Cookies used by Epinions and our network of stores are completely safe and they are enabled by default with most browsers.

What browser settings do I need to use for Epinions Cash Back?

For Internet Explorer 6:
On the Tools dropdown menu, select Internet Options. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Privacy Tab. Move the Security slider to the Medium level or lower and click OK.
For Internet Explorer 5:
On the Tools dropdown menu, select Internet Options. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security Tab. Make sure the Internet icon is selected. Move the Security slider to the medium level or lower, and then click OK.
For Internet Explorer 4.x:
On the View menu, select Internet Options. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Advanced Tab. Scroll down to teh Security section, and then click to select the checkbox next to "Always accept cookies". Click OK.
For Netscape 7.x:
On the Edit menu, select Preferences. On the Category menu, select Privacy and Security. On the Privacy and Secruity menu, select Cookies. Click the option button next to "Enable all cookies". Click OK.
For Netscape 6:
On the Edit menu, select Preferences. On the Category menu, select Privacy and Security. On the Privacy and Secruity menu, select Cookies. Click the box next to "Enable all cookies". Click OK.
For Netscape 4.x:
On the Edit menu, select Preferences. On the Category menu, select Advanced. Click the box next to "Accept all cookies". Click OK.
For AOL 8:
Select Settings. Choose Preferences and select Accessibility and click on Privacy Tab. Go to Settings and move slider downward to "Accept All Cookies," then click "Apply". Click OK.
For AOL 7:
Select Settings. Choose Preferences and select Internet Properties (WWW) and click on Privacy Tab. Go to Settings and move slider downward to "Accept All Cookies," and then click "Apply". Click OK.
For AOL5 and AOL6:
Select My AOL. Choose WWW and click the Security Tab. Go to Custom Level, find "Cookie" and click "Enable". Click OK.
