Pros: Easy Access, Low Electric Usage Cons: Some Internal space wasted
Every home owner should own a deep freezer that is separate from your kitchen refrigerator. Your average home kitchen freezer compartment is about large enough to hold a half gallon of ice cream, a box of peas, a couple of steaks, some French fries,...
Pros: large capacity, frost free, upright Cons: takes up space
If you have a family, you will eventually realize that the space in a standard Refrigerator/Freezer is hardly enough. Especially if you own a 22 CF. Side by side model, like we do. The side by side has absolutely no room for large trays or platters....
Pros: space, shelves, frost free, inexpensive,stock-up Cons: none after 4 years
To own a freezer is a must in this day and age. If you are going to buy one, be smart and do it right the first time. I originally bought this freezer when I won two cases(44) of whole chickens at a meat shoot. As you could imagine, that very next day...
Pros: It's a Kenmore, so it will last forever. A freezer allows you to stock on on sale items, good for large families! Cons: No matter what size you get, you'll always want a bigger one later on.
Before we had kids, we never gave much thought to needing additional freezer space. I did some stocking up, but the freezer above our refrigerator (Kenmore, of course) was always sufficient.
Pros: size, ease of finding things stored Cons: more expensive to operate
When I was pregnant with my daughter, my husband and I learned about cooking for the freezer. We crammed things into our existing over the refrigerator freezer and chest freezer, but had to give up ice cream or buy pint size containers and eat it all at...
We bought a Kenmore upright frost free freezer when our daughter and her husband moved in with us..I needed more freezer space..I wanted a chest type because of space and I thought a smaller one would be easier to take care of .. but my husband said a...
Pros: it's frost-free and stores a lot of food. Cons: nothing yet... we've only had for 5-6 hours.Lol
Me and my wife just purchased our Kenmore Frost Free Upright last night (September 17, 2007) after having our deep freezer for over 20 something years, it finally died and was laid to rest.... What we love so much about ours is, we can see everything and not have to move food around. And we got it for a great price!!!
Works great, but not if you are in it everyday by denisg ,Jun 30 '08
Pros: convenient, easy to reach all items, not like a chest type deep freeze, Cons: frost free doesn't keep food as long as a deep freeze or non frost free.
We've had our Kenmore frost free upright for about 2 years now. We have it in our kitchen, side by side with our Kenmore all fridge (no freezer compartment at all). Since we are in the freezer quite often due to its convenient location, the frost free drain tube ices up. We had the service guy come in under warranty to repair it. All he did was remove the back metal shield that covers the inside freezer elements, pour some hot water on the ice buildup, and left. So, now, about once a month or so, when I see ice at the bottom inside floor of the freezer, or when I see a little water on the floor by the door, I have to remove the back metal shield, melt the ice dam, re-install the metal shield, put all the food BACK into the freezer (you have to empty out the bottom and next two shelves to get access to the back panel), and then it's good for a while again. Does anybody else out there have this icing up problem? If so, please email me with a solution! (bmwr65@hotmail.com)
Kenmore upright freezer not the best brand to buy by appltech ,Dec 04 '09
Pros: Like the upright type of freezer. Very handy. Cons: Kenmore compressors cheap.
We really liked ours until it clunked out just after 5 years. Warranty was up. Looking to buy a different brand now. Kenmores DO NOT last forever!! Kenmore (whirlpool) does not make a good compressor. They used to be warranted for 5 years, now only 1 year.
