| macdaddyred's Full Review: Prude Ranch Summer Camp |
I first started attending the Prude Ranch Summer Camp in the summer of 1990. I was nervous/scared at first, but after spending time with my new bunk mates, I felt right at home. The staff is always friendly, and the Prudes are even friendlier. I went back for 9 years in a row, just because it is so much fun. Each day is filled with exciting activities. Some of these are:
- Horseback riding
- Riflery
- Archery
- Swimming
- Hiking
- Sports activities
and many more...
They have great-tasting, nutritional meals three times a day, and everybody almost always goes back for seconds.
Each night has a certain theme. The most popular ones are the lip sync, branding, and the weekly dance. After your first year, the branding night is more fun each year after that. I would give details but that would spoil all of the fun.
You can even attend Prude Ranch as a guest or group. Guests stay in nice hotel rooms right there on the ranch. They can either choose to participate in the same activities as campers, or just sit back and enjoy the scenery.
After attending college for one year, you are qualified to become a counselor at Prude Ranch. If you have not yet started college, you can be a CIT (Counselor In Training) and get all of the responsibilities of a counselor, but you don't get paid. It is a lot of fun, I had the opportunity of doing this last summer.
If you are looking for a great place to just go, relax, and have fun...this is the place! So take a week or two off and go enjoy the great Texas experience, Prude Ranch style. Thank you, that is all.
