RE: pending order

I have been trying to get an order from them that I paid for in Oct of 07. Nothing but excuses. The owners first name is Elliotte. I know that his health was bad, but I don't know anymore than that.

netshutters.com - no shutters

We had placed an order at the beginning of November and were told the shutters would be here by Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving, we contacted netshutters.com to check on the status of our order. They told us we should receive them by December 10. On December 12, we attempted to contact them once more but discovered that all numbers had been disconnected. We have notified our credit card company and the Better Business Bureau.

Gulfside Shutters to the rescue!

This @ first was a HUGE nightmare as I now see it has been for a lot of people...Netshutters.com has probably duped hundreds and told us all the same ol' excuses. Just as I was spazzing over my order of $3,200 that was late, I received a call. A person by the name of Brian with Gulfside Shutters gave me the news I feared, that Netshutters basically ripped me off. Brian informed me that their company was actually the main supplier and was forward all my info pertaining to what I wanted, however these crooks never deposited funds with Gulfside to start my order! he encouraged me to dispute the charges to my card, as Netshutters was out of business. He said that many people have been able to get their money back right away...as I did a phone call later.YES! Even better,as others said, they would order my shutters that day for what Netshutters charged me. I looked into them, and they handle the Norman shutters,& not a .com biz, since they have my info already,I called back(727-938-3436)So,5-6 wks I should be happier. Don't understand what happened to "Elliot"as my first order went well...but he deserves what he gets. Gulfside handled it then & I guess now too...I sent my invoice to: brian@gulfsideshutters.com. He also gave me some ref #'s & was just helpful. Anyone who dealt with Net-should call Gulfside & hope you too can get this resolved...

I don't know

This company takes your funds, then sends your information to a "supplier" to do what? Was the intention of Elliot to take your money and not process your order, then he felt bad about it and sent your information to his "supplier" to contact you and "help" you.

These companies are in neighboring towns in Florida. Elliot was the owner of netshutters . com, but that is gone.

There are MANY other great suppliers of shutters and window treatments that you do not need to go through this with a company that was given your contact information by the last guy.

It reminds me of the schemes that used to take place with con artists ripping off a client, then setting up a second con where they pretended to "help" the victim.

I do Know!!!!

Hi, I am Dan, the owner at Gulfside Shutters. The Whole deal with Net Shutters is that I am his supplier, he sent your orders to me as you ordered them. He owes me thousands of dollars. He knew all his orders were on old with me. I realized that after about 2 weeks of calling him with no response that he went out of business. I than started going threw the stacks of orders that were on hold and started to call each customer. Please realize that we don't sell retail. We are just trying to take care of the mess that we were left with. There are plenty of other shutters companies out there to buy from. All we are trying to do is help. Please be reassured that re are not Net Shutters. We are a very healthy company that got burnt just like the rest of you.

Criminal

What Netshutters is doing is criminal. If they did go out of business, they should do the right thing and not keep people's money. That's downright a felony. They had a good thing going there for a while and now the human element takes over. They could have posted a legitimate notice on the website, at the least, with redress notices. There are many ways. Yet, they go silent and dark and haven't posted a refund policy or refunded those left hanging.

Also, I'm dubious about the other company here purporting to be the "partner". If they also got burned, why don't they just drive over to NetShutters since they're neighboring towns in Florida. Surely they can talk to each other. It makes me wonder. GulfCoastShutters' web site is so crappy I can hardly believe that it has a good business model practice. I tend to believe the other poster about cons. NetShutters you need to come clean and do the right thing. Put your site back on and put a notice there, and refund people their money.

Shipping error: I might have your shutters if you live in SD

Hi there - if any of you happened to receive a wrong order from Netshutters just before Thanksgiving you might have my order and I might have yours. My order was for two 22x22 square and two 59x27 high shutters all inside mounts. I got an order for four shutters, outside mount approx 23 x59" which isn't mine.

Just before they went dark, Elliott said he was working to try to get my order sent back from SD. I live up here in LA county but if you still have my order perhaps we can figure out a way to swap.

glad we did not order

After receiving samples started to do some homework on placing an order. Found website was down. Thought I had a typo and found this site (epinions). Glad we did not place the order approx 10-15K. Domain contact information is still available through Network Solutions.

Pitty

Too bad about netshutters.com. I ordered several thousand dollars worth of shutters from them a couple years ago and had a great experience with the company and the product. If I can still get the same product (the Woodlore shutters) I will order them again for some other rooms of my house.

To address several postings, from my angle

My name is Neil, identified in a couple postings as the person who contacted netshutters.com customers. I am an employee of 3 years for Gulfside Shutters, & predominately work side by side with our area designers, decorators, & a variety of home entities on technical matters such as measuring, configuring, & installation of 'our' Norman & Mirasol Shutters. Note that I exclaim 'our' as Gulfside,(not to be confused with Gulfcoast)is an exclusive wholesaler of, in my opinion the best product which is that of Norman Shutters. I work with it on a daily basis, and it is satisfying to please the Home Owners as I am usually in the field. I've known of our .com buyers, but none better than Netshutters.com since they were top flight on Google. So I was stunned to here of their sudden demise. This caused havoc, as I learned that net- left hundreds of people in the dark, & stealing their money...never to carry-out orders that he faxed over to us, hoping my boss, Dan just might expedite this one as he(Elliot) was milking his payment terms. As Netshutters,(who really is the little guy and was a client/buyer who operated on the other side of FL for the skeptic blog),basically kept his buyer's money & neglected to fund the order thru us. Yet, keep in mind we produced weeks of orders which went unpaid to a point where Gulfside had to put incoming orders on hold(no money-no product) & even with his consumer info for shipping purposes, we could not contact them barring that we exercise confidentiality of our clients & he was still operating. To the skeptic post, it is naive to believe that my bosses or any other company would not try to resolve this kind of matter. From my understanding, it's going to be a little harder when our little guy,"Elliot" shuts it down after squeezing his last victim & is now gone. Now, here's the pending order, that he is brought up on charges! At that point, we had a moral & valid reason to contact his customers & dispute the now fraudulent charge from Net-, for which it became obvious that he left us hanging with zero, & mind you, thousands of $ of unpaid balances for the orders placed on 30 day terms which he sorely tested in the end, leaving his clients to believe that they were ordered...then lie weeks later about the ship status so he could stall the weary, & rip a few more people off. So we spent 3 days calling, advising, & once situated with bank credit, extending an opportunity to place the order with us since we have your size & shutter specs on file. We ask of your business in this unique situation, & be assured that you are dealing direct due to Nets- default. If you had purchased shutters in the past & looking for more of the same, I guarantee your previous order was expedited by Gulfside Shutters & will assist you. I'm not in sales, but I know we want to make sure you know of the options. For skeptic's blog bashing our website, we know it's not great-I laugh @ it...'Flashy' is so retail and we wholesale to clients that trust our trade & come by reputation. In any case, we all can learn & be wiser as consumers from Netshutters.com's debacle. We appreciate the vast majority of those who were pleasant, understanding, & properly took action to resolve & inform us of your status-I ask that you post once your shutters arrive & note of your experience. Remember, we can give you install advice & tips...reach us @ 727-938-3436 or email: brian@gulfsideshutters.com Good luck with your future projects! Neil

RE: pending order

I too have been taken by netshutters.com. After a wait of 8 weeks no shutters. I tried both of their phone numbers and get busy signals. The website no longer exists. We the ripped off need an attorney to file a class action lawsuit.

RE: pending order

Your credit card company should refund your money as I know many have had success, usually only taking a few minutes.

RE: pending order

Well folks, here is another one who has been ripped off! I, just like you, received the "sorry the shutters will be delayed until end of January 09 due to overwhelming orders for Christmas" I was reluctant to wait but got sucked in by the affordable price and what looked like quality pieces. So, stupid me, I agreed to wait and not take the refund to my credit card. So, if anyone out there has an attorney that would help us out with this as a class action lawsuit, please post it on this website. In the meantime, I will contact my credit card and the man from gulfside and see what can be done. I "lost" over $500.00, I feel bad for those that lost thousands. I, like you, have a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach and I am really bummed that I haven't received shutters which is all I really wanted anyway!! Let's try to organize this and actually do something about netshutters instead of whining about the wrong they have done. Keep an eye on this sight and maybe we can unite!!

If you contact your credit card company, you should have little problem getting your money refunded. By this time, I'm sure they've received scores of contested charges for Netshutters.

Gulfside Shutters

I re-ordered my shutters through Gulfside shutters after being taken advantage of by netshutters.com, I waited 3 months and then never received my product from netshutters.com. I have to say Gulfside Shutters staff was fantastic. Kept me informed with my order the whole time and I have just received them 6 weeks later just as promised. Maryann and Brian were great. I had a big order, 13 shutters and they delivered. If I decide to order more shutters I would go to Gulfside again.

Good Job Gulfside!

I am forever amused at the number of people who give big deposits to "a guy named Eliot" or Joe, or "a guy named Frank that drives a blue station wagon" because he offered the cheapest shutters or blinds around. Only to find his number disconnected and no shutters or blinds. It happens all the time.

Come on, people... don't be somebody's chump that's running a blind and shutter company "out of his car or garage."

I've done some "shutter rescues" myself here at azblinds.
