Natures Rest?

Hi everyone!

The search is on for a new mattress and I'm leaning heavily towards the Natures Rest. I have terrific neck and shoulder problems and have been waking up with numbness/burning in my entire right arm/fingers for several months now. Additionally, because I'm not sleeping well at night, I end up taking these 4 hour "naps" on my days off.

Any comments - positive or negative - on the Natures Rest line?

Thanks!!

I just bought a Nature's Rest "Sun" model

Hi -

I have been sleeping on my Nature's Rest "sun" model for 2 weeks now. I have a very active toddler, work as a paralegal (lots of sitting and typing) 4-midnight 3 nights a week and I am 6 months pregnant. I want a good nights sleep. I paid about $3500 when all was said and done. I have to wait the 30 days to do a comfort exchange but I have a total of 60 days to think about whether or not this bed is right for me. I only have one shot at the Comfort exchange so I want to get it right. I think this is a great bed. I love the concept of no springs. Sleeping on springs just doesn't seem right to me. I have done a ton of research. In the store this bed felt very comfortable to me and I also think that I was trying to get the best for my money and felt like if I went to one of the top models how could I go wrong.

I wake up in the a.m. with back pain in my rib area. Kind of at the point where your bra strap typically falls. When I reach in to get my daughter out of her crib my arms in that position really make my back "flinch". I know that I am carrying extra weight with the pregnancy and I probably don't have the best posture when I am typing for hours on end but I thought that I would wake up feeling like I have slept on a cloud (frankly for that much money that is how I should feel). I don't think this is a bad bed. I think it is the wrong density/firmness for me. I had wanted to get the "Ocean" model but was afraid that was too soft but now I think that is what I need. I will say that the old bed I was sleeping on (Sealy Posturepedic Extra Firm pillowtop) was so firm that I woke up literally hunched over like an 80 year old woman and had back pain all over. This Nature's Rest bed seems to have fixed the problem of the lower back pain. I am praying that when I exchange this bed for the softer/cushier style that it will then be the perfect bed.

I have only read 1 negative feedback on the Nature's Rest and all the rest have been excellent reviews. A good website to look at before purchasing is www.whatsthebestmattress.com

hope this was helpful...feel free to reply with any questions since you may help me determine whats the best bed for me since you are a nurse after all....

RE: I just bought a Nature's Rest

Hi! Thanks for these posts, they're very interesting.

Inasmuch as though, this is an Epinions' discussion board, let me encourage you to write a review on this product. Other consumers need to know about it. okay?

http://www.epinions.com/search/?submitted_form=searchbar&search_string=Nature%27s+rest&tax_name=&dyn_nav=0&dyn_nav_id=&search_vertical=2522498&searchbar_submit=Search

This entire address needs to be copied/pasted into your address bar and you'll find a list of a great many Nature's Rest Mattresses. Hope your is there and looking forward to the review.

Well, I bought it!

Hi there, and thanks for your comments. I did end up buying the Natures Rest mattress. I believe it's the Cedar Grove. I got a good deal, I think, at $1750.

Now, like you, I had anticipated waking up and feeling like I was 20 again (well, OK...I'd be happy with feeling like I was 40! :) ) and was shocked and terribly disappointed the first few days when I didn't. Actually, I felt worse. But then...

After adjusting to it, I'm sleeping much better! I'm atually "sleeping in" a bit and for me, that is highly unusual.

As for your aches and pains...I'm thinking that might definitely have more to do with your profession/pregnancy than anything else. Obviously, the weight and distribution of weight during pregnancy is a problem, but sitting/typing/computer work all day is really hard on the spine/neck/shoulders. A couple of suggestions: 1) if you can find a personal trainer with some expertise in pregnancy to teach you stretching exercises you will likely obtain huge benefits, 2) cervical support pillow, 3) talk to your doctor about evaluation with a physical therapist.

I've done all of the above, and now, with the addition of this new mattress, I'm feeling really great in spite of the fact that I'm lifting/pulling on patients all day.

Now I'm going to see about writing that review the mod mentioned. Have a great day!

Help with review needed

Hi Mod! I copied the link you provided but for the life of me, can't figure out how to write a review. I've looked everywhere for something on Natures Rest, but can't find anything. Advice? Thanks!

RE: Help with review needed

Unfortunately although there are several listings when you search on the site for "Natures Rest", none are correct for your mattress as you have found. The brand is not currently listed.

The good news is that a Category Lead in Home and Garden can add products if they get a request to do so. It is called a SAP (suggest a product) request. Good information about how to do that is here: http://www.epinions.com/msg/show_~threads/cat_id_~17/id_~7133/forum_id_~181. It takes a little web research to fill the request form out.

The less good news is that since the brand doe not appear to be listed it may take a while to get the listing added. Anyway, mattress reviews on Epinions are very popular and it would be worthwhile to ask that it be added so you can write a review of it.

Thanks for asking.

Larry

Oh, I do apologize. I should have followed through on that search and realized that it had come up short of what you wanted.

I am so sorry. And Larry's advice is very good. I do hope we can get it in the listing for you. If you need help with the SAP, please let us know.

RE: Well, I bought it!

I am glad you bought the Cedar Grove. I am looking at the next model up at the Pinecrest Grove. You got a fantastic deal at $1750. I found a Cedar Grove "used" for that price. A new one was quoted for $2800. The Pinecrest was $3550 new. I will not pay this. I am looking to pay $2600 for it. If not, I will go to the Cedar Grove. The Cedar Grove is a little too firm.

RE: I just bought a Nature's Rest

I think you mis-typed the URL, and you really meant:
http://www.whatsthebest-mattress.com/
the dash makes a difference!

I was really hoping to find some reviews on epinions.com, to help me decide which bed I should look at... At my local Sleepy's (the sole distributor for Nature's Rest in the northeast US), I'm trying to decide between two different beds. There's the luxury firm Nature's Rest (Nature's Form line) Recovery model (may be called Malibu Sun, Refresh, Restoration, Aurora firm, Autumn Breeze, Peaceful, Sierra Mist Firm, Desert Rain, Seascape, or Peaceful, depending on your individual market, according to the company website http://www.naturesrest.com/NaturesForm/-/546 ). Or, I'm considering the Tempur-Pedic CelebrityBed ...

RE: I just bought a Nature's Rest

I am not an expert on mattresses (or anything, really), but I love love love my Temper Pedic. It's ruined me for all other beds. We took about a week to get used to it, but now I would never go with a different type of mattress.

Nature's Rest-disappointment

I found the Nature's Rest mattress to be very disappointing. Body impressions were left after only a few days of use....and neither my husband nor I weigh more than 140 lbs. I've heard that this is called "Canoeing" when a mattress sinks wherever the person usually sleeps even if they are not on the bed. I would not recommend this mattress and am very sorry I bought it. I paid half the retail price but it wasn't worth even that.

RE: natures rest

Please tell me...how do you like your bed?

My husband and I purchased a king Haven this evening.
I'm so scared.(but can still cancel the check) LOL!!!

I hope I made a good choice. I pray or I'll never hear the end of it from my other half.
Yes he let me alone make the choice....which is good but could be proven disasterous too! hahahaha!

So...
How much did you pay?
Where did you buy it from?
What are your likes, dislikes about the bed?

I bought mine in Jax. Fl. From Beds for Less.

I paid $1925.00 out the door with a frame and a waterproof/breathable cover.

I can't find any info or reviews or oppinions about Nature's Rest hardly , let alone this (Haven) model.

Beds for Less said that they were getting in a new model next week and I got the last king.
Who knows how true????

Any info /advice/or oppinion would be extremely appreciated.

Justustwo

Nature's Rest

I have owned a Nature's rest mattress for about a year now and find it very comfortable but am also finding it very hot. My husband and I both wake up most night uncomfortably hot and we are becoming more and more sure that it is the mattress that is causing this. Does anyone else suffer with the same problem?

RE: natures rest

My husband and I have owned a Nature's Rest (Sierra model) for almost five years and we love it. We are looking to replace it when we move because, yes, there is an impression issue. We are not in a hurry, however, because this is by far the most comfortable bed either of us has ever slept in. My husband travels several days a week throughout the year and is fortunate enough to have a job that lets him stay in four/five star hotels ... plus fortunately we stay there on vacations because of his frequent visitor status. I only mention this because we have been in every high-end "heavenly" and amazing bed type I can have imagined sampling ... and no matter how good it is, we are always thrilled to return to our Nature's Rest. Impressions and all.

Anyhow. Shopping for our next one online; if anyone has feedback, lemme know! Sleep well!

Nature's Rest

I have been sleeping on a top of the line king pillow top (can't remember the exact model) Natures rest mattress for one year. It felt great in the beginning. Literally like sleeping on a cloud, but now there are deep depressions where my husband and I sleep.

We are average weight adults and after spending close to 5,000 for this set I am not satisfied. It feels like I am sleeping on a hill or in a valley depending on where I position myself. I intend to pursue a solution via the warranty however, I would not recommend this mattress.

RE: Nature's Rest

We have slept on the top of the line Nature's Rest for 3+ years and have deep indentations where we sleep. The hump in the middle between us is not a good thing. Please let me know if you have any solutions for this problem. Return or exchange?
thanks

Nature's Rest

We have had a Nature's Rest mattress for 4 1/2 years and we also have horrible deep body impressions with a hump in the middle. We are pursuing the warranty but will probably sell the replacement for another brand. It appears to be common and will happen again even with replacement.

Natures Rest

We have the Natures Rest Relaxation Queen Set. At first, we loved it. Paid $3500 for it, but thought it would be worth the price. Within a month we had a large 'canoe' hole in the center of the bed and found ourselves fighting uphill to get to our own side of the mattress. The warranty does say that 1.5" or less are considered normal "wear and tear", but ours exceeded that. We called Sleepy's, they sent out a 'bedcheck' representative and within a week the results were that our bed was defective, including the boxspring. Within a week, we received a Sleepy's credit for the entire amount we paid. Our Natures Rest had the pillow top, which I thought may be the culprit. We have not yet chosen our new bed. We are considering a step down, without the pillowtop, however, not really sure which way to go. Our credit is good for any bed in Sleepys.
Any advice from those that have used their warranty which bed they chose and are pleased?
