Oh give me a break RIAA!

How many of you have blown 18 dollars on an album just for one hit single? I've it it once too many times, i am not cheap, it is humane to spend money for enjoyment, but how much is too much?
Napster is a free service with a great idea, they are trying to help people. And most of the songs are of lower quality (the bitrate) than a CD, only because files from CDs are of great quality, BUT high quality music takes about 30 minutes to download with an average 56kbps modem, and people don't want that.
The lawsuit is centered on the fact that Napster is taking away sales from the artists' albums, is this true? YES, Napster is guilty, no dobut, but that said- let me make you (the reader) convinced that the RIAA are guilty of over pricing as well.
It costs about 1.00 to produce a CD. Thats a very high estimate. They don't use those 5.00 a piece consumer CDrs. Their blank CDs are about 10 cents a piece, and the other cost is the printing of the pamphlet which we will say 90 cents a piece. OK, thats one dollar, now, why do some CDs costs 13.99, and some even 21.99? Easy, because the record company needs to make money too, and they figure since there is no alternative, they can charge as much as they want for those 15 songs, and in many cases that one GOOD song on the album. NAPSTER is here, and Napster is that alternative that are affraid of, because it is free, and can cause sales to drop.
Do I own a record store? Do I own a record label? Am I musician? NO, no and no, if I was, i probobly would hate Napster, but since i am not profiting from making music, I dont care. I am a student, with a limited budget, and believe Napster is one of ther greatest programs! I can if i wanted to profit from Napster.
A note to PIAA: I can, and will copy your CDs, and sell them for a good price, something you do. You have a right to be mad at Napster for reducing your buisness, but you are also somewhat guilty for a monopoly, that being said, Napster is the compotition, with a better price, is the goverment actually encouraging a monopoly to take place?
