Pros: Easy to use, full of features Cons: LCD needs a backlight
NO more trips to the copy shop. No more favors from the bank to fax my papers. Ive got it all at my finger tips! Who would have thought you could have a copy store right in your own home without having a huge machine the size of a riding lawnmower ...
Pros: Very good all-rounder.
Unbeatable price. Cons: None really, but see full review.
I just bought this MFC tonight after work, and as with any new toy I decided to start playing with it right away. My original motivation for buying a new MFC was a: having had the ink run out on my Epson printer, and b: deciding it was a good time to ...
Pros: Space Saving, HIGH-quality printing, Excellent copies, faxes, scans Cons: Scanner/Faxes limited to letter-size, noisy machine, slow printing at high quality.
We thought it was too good to be true, on sale for $99 and a $30 mail-rebate, making it $70. We recently bought a new digital camera and quickly began to notice the limitations of our old Epson inkjet printer and were ready to get a new one. We also ...
Pros: Quiet and takes up less space. It completes 5 different funtions. Cons: Does not have automatic Document feeder
This is one of the most amzing machines that I have seen recently. It does 5 separate things, You can fax, print, scan, copy and do your photographs on one machine. It is quiet and consumer friendly. It is also a flat top scanner copier too. It takes up a ...
Pros: Small enough to fit, easy enough to use, and good enough to keep! Cons: The paper tray "seems" a little lightweight. First impression: be careful not to break it.
There are already some very good and accurate reviews on the Brother MFC-210C Inkjet Multifunction Printer (see Annie Crane's review) so I will not duplicate the goodness (if even I could), but here are the facts: this machine is GOOD; this machine is a ...
Pros: small, efficient, low cost with aftermarket ink Cons: paper tray could hold more, print speed is slower
I bought this printer in Feb of 2005 in search of a cheap and compact all in one to replace my lackluster HP all in one that stopped printing on business card paper correctly. The Brother is now low on black ink (but not beeping that it's out) in July. ...
Pros: Compact in appearance. Cons: 15 words can't tell you all the cons.
I just bought this all-in-one and am planning on returning it. right out of the box it eats the paper, spews ink all over it, rips it, etc. makes a horrid noise. The controls totally are locked out if this thing gets hyped and all you can do is ...
Pros: Good very low volume device Cons: Eats cartridges even if you don't use 'em. Tech support 'attitude'
This is a great unit for very low volume use. However, I bought it just to receive faxes, and I NEVER use it to print colour.
Still, after 4 months, the damned thing started complaining that the colour cartridges were low. Then it said the colour cartridges were empty! - at which point, it stops working entirely - won't print anything. I missed several orders from clients.
I called Brother tech support - they said the colour cartridges are 'consumed' when the printer cleans itself. I expressed my chagrin that - since I don't use colour, I still have to buy cartridges. The tech support fellow - with plenty of 'attitude' - then suggested it was my fault for buying a colour copier!!
My wisest purchase in a long time! by tessintown ,Jun 15 '05
Pros: Ease of set up, use & connectivity, quality output, small footprint, low price, features. Cons: None so far.
I got a great deal on HSN. I was looking for a multi-function mostly for copying, scanning (esp. OCR test capability), faxing, and PC printing. I literally plugged it in, ran the CD, then it was ready to use! I was in shock at how easy it was. It prints B&W print and graphics as well as a laser. The color & photo very is sharp also. It prints very, very fast. The scan OCR is great, but its default word processing program is Word Pad and I wish I could change that. It is convenient not to have to top-load the paper. This thing is so user-friendly that I think most people could probably figure it out, albeit I am very computer literate. I threw out my old scanner; it had such bad software that it was basically worthless and it had no OCR. This Brother is worth every penny. I can't believe I made the right choice the first time!
Brother MFC-210C Hunk of Junk by sweetlilybee ,Dec 05 '05
Pros: It was cheap. Cons: It is shoddy, poorly designed, and expensive to maintain.
I hate this printer and wish I had never bought it. I was swayed by the cheap sale price.
It is not user friendly at all. The little LED screen is tiny and hard to read, and also makes no sense.
This printer eats ink during its "cleaning function," so even if you don't print color very often, it sucks it out so that you still have to replace the expensive color cartridges all the time.
Also, when one cartridge is "empty," you can't by-pass it to print only black. I say "empty" in quotation marks because it prompts you to replace cartridges when they are still a quarter to a third full.
It has frequent paper jams. And when you have to tilt the machine to look underneath for the jam, it upsets the ink balance or something and makes it go through its infuriating cleaning process.
It takes up a lot of room on the desk.
I will never buy another Brother product again. I am on my way to the place I bought it, to complain mightily about what a piece of garbage it is.
Awesome Value and Performance by cajungent ,Jan 06 '05
Pros: Does all the more expensive printers do in less space and as good or better! Cons: Haven't found anything I don't like yet!
Excellent features for such a reasonably priced printer. I've owned Brother printers for years and never had a single problem, so I'm comfortable buying one of their products. I replaced 2 printer/scanners with this machine. It produces a high enough quality print so I can take care of business at home, and has scan, fax and copy (in color if you like) abilities as well. It is also convenient and less costly having individual color cartridges instead of all the colors being in one. If you are looking for a printer/scanner/copier/fax/photo printer in a nice, efficiently designed unit for under $100 (I bought mine for $99 plus a $20 Office Max rebate card-so you could say $79.00) this is the printer for you!
Pros: Pro: The scan function is great and user-friendly. Cons: Like others here mentioned, it eats cartridges even if you don't use them!
Cheap purchase price but expensive to maintain. Sneaky business practice. You can't bypass the "ink empty" error message even if you don't need to print anything.
Ink Cartridge Acceptance by storiesnsanta ,Feb 08 '07
Pros: All-in-one Cons: No TECH support that is easy to access
My Brother MFC 210C will not accept or recognize a new cyan cartridge, and it will not print until it does. Brother has no easy to reach phone tech support to help. Make me wonder about keeping it.
I do like the all-in-one aspect, which is why I bought it. However, the instructions for scanning are NOT in the book. I am supposed to get them through the web. But the address is missing. Not just a lot of help, AND THERE is no way to get the help.
Pros: -fax and scanner for cheap price Cons: -expensive to maintain if used for printing
-noisy paper feeder
They sell it for less but they get you when it comes to buy the new cartridge. You have to install new cartridge even though the old one is not completely empty. But the worst is, you have to have all color cartridges filled up when you just want to have black and white copy (having black cartridge full is not enough, the machine will not even attempt to print if any of the remaining cartridges are empty or almost empty !!!!). Forget about this printer if you print more than 10 pages per month or you will have a second "mortgage".
