Pros: Professional pictures, Stingy with ink, Reliable, Size. Cons: No memory card slots.
I have always enjoyed taking pictures, but always hated taking them in to get developed. Not because it takes both my time and energy, but because of the cost; the prices to get a high quality picture developed can be downright outrageous. When I ...

Pros: Very good quality printing; Uses little ink; ink cartridges are less expensive Cons: The front tray falls open too easily; Auxilliary tray is a little awkward to use
Besides having a durable personal computer and quality monitor, the next most important piece of electronic equipment in ones home or business office is a printer. I have owned and/or operated many different printers from the mid 1990s (when I ...

Pros: Great photos, fast sharp text, frugal with ink. Duplex. Best 4-color printer I've seen. Cons: On matte paper, has a wee bit less contrast than Epson 6-ink printers.
I love this printer. Photos on glossy paper have very nice color and contrast, with quality so good I haven't used a photo lab since buying this printer. It also prints fast, crisp text, whereas many photo printers don't. It can print duplex (i.e. on ...

Pros: Separate ink tanks and cheap ink, outstanding print quality and detail, duplexing, borderless... Cons: Lack of LCD screens and other bells and whistles may not impress.
It was only until just lately that the realization that I'd actually paid for a printer for the first time in my life sunk in. I found myself in the position of needing one as of late, since my aged Lexmark 3200 was becoming a proposition of ...

Pros: Photo quality. Duplexing. Separate paper trays. Quiet. Cons: Speed on photo prints - not a real big deal to me.
The print heads went bad on my latest printer (a Canon S530D). I contemplated both replacing the print head (at a cost of about $85 bucks) and purchasing a new printer that printed better quality photos. So, I began to research. My search took me ...

Pros: Superb borderless photo prints, two side text printing. Dollar for dollar a best buy! Cons: Paper output tray closing mechanism needs improvement.
I purchased a refurbished Canon Pixma IP5000 to accompany my new Canon S2 IS Digital Camera. I am equally pleased with both products. (I'll review the camera after I've had some time try it out.) I need the ability to print professional quality DVD ...

Pros: Great photos, speed of printing, options to prevent wasted paper (and ink) Cons: Though easy and efficient, front/back printing is a little slow.
I've had the Pixma iP5000 for about 4 months now. I also own a Canon Digital Rebel. The combination is great for my wall because I've pictures everywhere! Everyone thinks the pictures are great and are amazed that they came out of a printer. The ...

Pros: Top Notch Photo Printing
Cost Effective
Built in Duplex unit
Dual paper sources Cons: Shiny Black unit shows dust easily.

Pros: Photo quality, paper handling versatility, speed, refill-friendly cartridges, size, duplex printing, borderless, CD-printing Cons: Poor draft text quality, a bit noisy, no ink consumption estimates
I bought this printer 8 months ago. The quality of the photo prints on glossy paper is flawless. I cannot distingusih a photo printer this way from the same photo made in a conventional lab. All this with only 4 colors, that is quite an achievment!!! ...

Pros: Easy to install and use, Fast printing, Excellent photo print quality, PictBridge connection, Quiet, Cost Cons: Less than great plain paper printing
I purchased this wonderful unit about 2 months ago, after my HP Photosmart P1000 finally took a dump on me. I have always been pro HP when it comes to printers, but there was something about the look of the PIXMA that made me think twice about my ...

Pros: Unbeatable quality; FAST; moderately priced; replaceable print head assembly (unlike many Epsons); conservative with ink Cons: No CD/DVD printer if that's something you need/want; may cause compulsive printing!
I've had my IP5000 for a couple weeks and I love it. I looked at everything else on the market (HP, Epson, Olympus, blah blah blah) and got samples from everything and none of them could quite stack up to the quality and vividness that the IP5000 has. ...

Pros: Incredible photos, Prints documents, Cool design. Buy Canon. Cons: ---
I just returned from vacation with a load of pictures on my new Casio EX-Z750 camera (which I'm VERY pleased with), and so I jumped right into some rigorous review-reading in order to find the 'right' photo printer. I've always known Canon makes some of ...

Pros: Quality, Quiet, Quick Cons: Problems printing wirelessly, poor customer support
After falling in love with this printer and it's abilities, I ran into the absolute brick wall of Canon Customer Support when I inquired about this printer's functionality. Canon says if you want to connect a printer of theirs to a wireless network, you ...

PIXMA IP5000
by slawsky54 ,Nov 08 '04
Pros: Photo quality prints; text; speed; noise Cons: None that I can see.
WOW! I've owned and loved my Canon S900 for a couple of years now. Photos are great, and printing is fast. I've never been overly thrilled with the noise of the printer, and the text is ok. I watched and waited while the i series came and went. But today I made the leap after reading good reviews about the IP5000. I have to say it's just AMAZING! Much quieter, very fast, text is great, and the photos -- I don't think prints from a photo lab could be any better. It's easy to setup. I printed an 8 x 11 full frame photo (from a 5 mp file - Sony 717 camera) and all I can say is WOW!
