Bad phones
by red73010 ,Jan 10 '06
Pros: 24/7 customer care and they are always nice if you can understand them.
Cons: They wont make my phone rite with me
I have been a customer of T-Mobile for 3 years and I bought the Motorola v180 recently and I have had nothing but trouble with it. I cant seem to get T-Mobile to fix it. I am just stuck with it or I have to pay way too much for a new phone. I already bought one isn't that enough? They are sometimes good if it isn't going to cost them anything, but they should at least discount me on a phone that works instead of trying to stick it to me.

tmobile's customer service rocks
by sarilou317 ,Mar 04 '09
Pros: Call them anytime. No fear that your day will be ruined.
Cons: Too bad they couldn't give me another $50 Wing.
I had a really bad experience with my wing (dead in 14 mos, $104 to repair).  Had to make several calls to tmobile to work out an alternative... While I was very disappointed that they couldn't give me a new Wing for the huge discount I originally got, I was extremely impressed with how fantastic their customer service was - both in calling customer service and tech support.  Very short waits; friendly intelligent people.  There was no reading from a script; they actually listened to me, thought about my problem, and tried their best to solve it (this is clearly NOT a job outsourced to another country).  On the flipside, I spent 45 minutes trying to get help from Verizon on my home phone... and didn't even get to talk to a human!  Thank you, tmobile!

The most obnoxious service provider
by boolean10 ,Dec 05 '04
Pros: Cheaper phones
Cons: Bad coverage, Bad business practice.
I switched from AT&T to T-mobile (SF BAY AREA) because they were offerring very good deal on tri-band phones. What a mistake!

It charged 10 bucks a month for web browsering, unlike Verison. It does have spotty coverage around the bay (no service on some portions of I-80) unlike AT&T.

And worst of all, if you miss your payment date by 3 days, they'd be sending you debt collection letters trying to goad you into signing up for their easy pay option by threatening to suspend you. Of course, if they do suspend you, you will have to pay the reactivation fee. Viola! What a good way to keey the customer!

For the sake of you credit, don't make a mistake like I did. I still have 8 more month on my contract. PAIN! I'll be switching back to Cingular/AT&T the first thing when the time comes.

Disgust with T-Mobile's policies on downloading music ringtones
by crayzerholder ,May 13 '08
Pros: This has been my only beef with T-Mobile in the 6 or more years.
Cons: Paying multiple times for something T-Mobile knows that I have already purchased.
I'm somewhat distraught at the turnover concerning new phone upgrades and past music downloads. I find it upsetting that you pay for the service of purchasing a song downloads only to have to do it multiple times after purchasing a new phone. Why am I paying more than once with T-Mobile to have the same downloads, at more than two dollars a pop, when in the past I could just call customer services and have those downloads replaced? Greed or idiocy?

Terrible Coverage and Poor Customer Service
by pigsear ,Oct 26 '05
Pros: Not a ONE!
Cons: Poor Service Poor Customer Service Terrible Coverage
I had T-Mobile for two years. After calling several times to complain about their coverage and having them blow smoke up my %## about "new towers" and "more reliability" for months and months I finally gave up on them. Verizon has the best coverage. I also asked for some sort of incentive to stay with T-Mobile but they gave me none, while ANY other new service would give me a free new phone and other goodies. Their customer service was rude and careless. I can't degrade this company enough after finally being cheated out of an eighty dollar monthly bill that I did not have service for. Stay away.

Signal Capability
by joe125 ,Aug 05 '05
Pros: The sales representative has been the only positive experience. Unfortunately, I now know why.
Cons: T Mobile has extremely poor signal quality which leaves this consumer with extreme regrets.
Throughout the day, I have been to many of metro Detroit's major cities, including West Bloomfield, Southfield, Grosse Pointe, etc., and still have not been able to pick up a signal. I have just recently been introduced to T Mobile and am finding that the signal capability is extremely poor. I have had to make a number of business related calls and have been unable to do so due to this major inconvenience. The only use I currently have for my cellular phone is to tell time. If this happens to be a regular occurrence, I find that this company unethically promotes cellular service, leading it's customers with gimmicks in order to sign contracts under which they have no recourse, in which to act, finding that their capacity to communicate is profoundly limited. Should this be the normal practices of T Mobile, I would greatly consider the ethical principles under which T Mobile and it's employees operate.

T-Mobile Customer Service going downhill
by jdayer ,Aug 15 '08
Pros: GSM service provider.
Cons: Degrading service, poor coverage, fewer choices in phone features, less competitive in service features.
T-Mobile is more expensive and does not have the service features, phone features or coverage of other cell phone companies, but, their customer service is so much better that I have enjoyed being a customer.

T-Mobile does not offer GPS on the Blackberry Curve, and many of their other phones are similarly feature restricted, but until recently customer service has been good enough that I stayed with the company.

T-Mobile's calling circle plans are more limited than others, no roll over minutes, etc, etc. Customer service has always made up for the lack of service features.

In my opinion over the past six months the T-Mobile customer service has taken a serious downturn.

The only benefit is the international coverage because of T-Mobiles GSM service.

Never had any trouble
by bestbrit ,Aug 06 '07
Pros: No frustrating foreign call centres
Cons: the automated system at the beginning rarely understands my English accent
I recently bought a Sony Ericsson K800i from England and brought it to the US to use on the T-mobile network. I had an issue with receiving picture messages and after a few failed attempts at configuring it myself I contacted T-mobile. The customer service was exceptional. I had a feeling they would tell me there was nothing they could do for a phone they don't support but I was wrong. I was transferred twice but each person knew what was going on before I spoke to them and was polite and very helpful. They sent me settings for my phone and despite having no experience with this particular phone, walked me through how to adjust it to the necessary specifications. I was not sitting on hold and was spoken to by someone who actually understood what I was saying. In fact, I have never had any problems with solving issues with them. The salutation and goodbye is cheesy but at least they pretend to care that you are a customer.

tmobile has bad coverage
by amgeraci ,Jan 24 '06
Pros: good plans
Cons: really small coverage areas, bad return policy, poor customer service
i purchased my tmobile phone and service online at tmobile.com. it came in the mail two days later. when i tried to place a call inside my home, it was dropped. i had to go outside in the cold to stand in the middle of the street to find one bar of signal service. customer service cancelled the phone but would not credit me for the days of service they charged me even though i did not have the phone in my possession. they also would not send me a return label. now i will have to pay for four days of service (according to their records) plus to have it shipped back to them, even though the decision for me to return the phone is based on the fact that they do not provide service to my home area. this is the worst customer service as far as i am concerned. they were completely unwilling to do anything about my situation because it was not 'policy', even though i wanted to return the phone because of their poor coverage in my home area.

Completely Unhelpful
by sam_2u ,Oct 23 '05
Pros: Fairly good coverage internationally
Cons: Terrible response capabilities, inaccurate record keeping, and incredibly inflexible.
T-Mobile has, by far, the worst customer service of any cellular company I have ever dealt with. There is no way I would ever recommend the company to a friend or even an enemy.

T-Mobile Service is the ABSOLUTE WORST!!
by sheffer ,Oct 24 '05
Pros: there is nothing good about this crappy company...
Cons: Everything. STAY AWAY FROM T-MOBILE, they are the worst cell phone company on earth!
I have tried every phone service out there and T-Mobile is without question the pits. I just went with them because I wanted a SideKick, which is a piece of crap. T-Mobile service is a joke. They will not lift a finger to remedy a situation even when they have caused it. Their people treat you like dirt.

by zyjdong ,Oct 07 '05
Pros: no
Cons: bad
They customer care sucks!!!!
I cancelled the service 3 days late because their cancelltion center either hang up on me or kept me waitting forever. They charged me for the whole month. I argued and both the representative and the supervisor admitted it's their fault but they don't want to correct it.

Awfull experience.

AVOID T-MOBILE at all costs
by gibson330 ,Oct 29 '03
Pros: none.
Cons: poor coverage. unhelpful customer service. useless web site. "special offers" that don't really exist.
coverage is a joke: no service in places like burlington, vermont; cleveland, ohio; richmond, virginia; and even parts of los angeles! and this, after being told (in march 2002) that voicestream/t-mobile "had excellent coverage, great if you travel a lot" by clueless salesperson.

special offers are a joke: i attempted approximately five times to order a phone upgrade at their invitation. no one ever answered their 866 number. never.

the t-mobile web site is useless: i attempted to order said phone approximately five times on t-mobile.com, the most buggy web site i've ever encountered. finally, i was able to order the phone.

did the phone ever come? no. was there ever a record of the transaction, which included transfer of my credit-card number? no. was customer service able to help me? no -- they referred me to several defunct or useless toll free numbers. bottom line: BEWARE of their so-called GET MORE offers. they are IMPOSSIBLE to take advantage of.
