Waste Of Money
by romanmcm ,Dec 22 '07
Pros: It looks different. It is somewhat lighter than my old Hoover. No bags to change. Cons: Doesn't deliver. Suction is weak and it "pushes" around stuff it should be vacuuming.
I have had my Dyson for about 6 months now. I regret selling my Hoover upright before trying this thing out longer. It is terrible on floors and carpet. The low front pushes items on the carpet around rather than vacuuming them up. I have had to literally run items over 4 or 5 times before it finally gives in a lifts them, and when it doesn't I often bend over to pick it up and find it should have easily. On hardwood or tile floors...same story. It pushes, blows, or knocks stuff about rather than lifting them into the container. It feels flimsy too. If you have ever tried one out you know what I mean. The plastic creaks and twists when you manipulate the handle around.

I love my Dyson!
by activedreamer ,Oct 21 '05
Pros: Amazing suck action; clear bagless compartment allows you to see results Cons: Container doesn't always close properly, sometimes it opens on its own and dust falls out
After reading reviews on this web site, I decided to go for it and buy a dyson in December 2004. I was feeling distraught over my allergies and asthma in my house in Tucson, where dust accumulated every day. My husband, concerned that I was going to cry myself into an asthma attack, convinced me to charge the Dyson onto our Best Buy card where we could pay it off at 18 months no interest.
It was the BEST household purchase EVER. No vacuum I've ever used or owned has ever worked this well and, almost a year letter, still SUCKS like it was brand new. I vacuum at least ever other day if not more often just to get the chance to watch this baby suck.

Pros: Great suction...very smooth handling..... Cons: none
This vacuum has so much suction it is remarkable! You will not believe the dirt and junk it picks up. I did not realize how dirty my carpet was until I used this vacuum. Will never use another brand ever again. This vacuum will spoil you rotten!

Best ROI I have ever had
by cwmccaul ,Jun 29 '04
Pros: Suction power, value, and results. Cons: Large number of sealing interfaces may or may not present long term reliability issues
I have tried various kinds of vacuum cleaners before and after purchasing the Dyson DC07 vacuum cleaner, I am amazed and actually enjoy cleaning the carpets.
Brief highlights:
A) After vacuuming with the Dyson, I can say that I have never been as impressed with any other vacuum cleaner as I am with this brand name. Obviously, a lot of thought and R+D dollars went into producing this vacuum cleaner. This vacuum cleaner has enhanced the color and feel of all my carpet in my house.
B) After my girlfriend lost her 1 carrot diamond earing in my house several months ago, we eventually gave up ever trying to find it again. Ironically, after using the dyson on my kitchen floor I noticed what looked like a pin in the clear dust bin. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was her diamond earing. The machine had been paid for :).
C) The suction power is deceivingly stout. For a 12 amp appliance, the efficiency is surprisingly good. Hats off to James Dyson and team for this ingenious invention.

Thank you Dyson
by imuchemi ,Apr 21 '04
Pros: Picks up everything. Staircase accessory goes to top of stairs. No bags, no filters. Cons: It's quite heavy. Also, is $400.
My Dirt Devil broke last week. Please NEVER buy the Dirt Devil. It's junk. I brought my Dyson home and it's the best $400 I've ever spent. We have wall to wall carpet on both floors. My house now looks like it did when we first moved in -- brand new. I can't believe how much invisible yuk it picked up. The only thing that saddens me is knowing that we've been breathing all that crap for the longest time & not to mention we have a young baby. No wonder he constantly sniffles.

Attention all you "Monica Gellars" out there... you need this vacuum.
by babyella ,Dec 01 '04
Pros: - Amazing Cleaning ability
- Long Cord
- Easy to "drive" Cons: - The attachment handle is akward at times
I bought this vacuum while pregnant and on a super nesting mode. My husband, not thrilled with the price, did not want to mess with me and my needing a clean house. The first time I used it... I was amazed- and yet disgusted that my "clean" house really was a big dust and hairball!
We have two cats and two dogs and they produce alot of hair, dirt and dust. I could not be happier with this product. The container to remove the waste is easy to do so I do it often. I am still shocked at how much dirt it picks up!
The only negative that I have about it is that the hose for the attachments is a bit akward at times- but it still makes up for it in all the other aspects. I love this so much I have had 4 friends buy a Dyson and they love theirs too! Pricey? What is a clean house worth?

Best vacuum I've ever had
by gdbryan ,Dec 03 '04
Pros: Amazing performance, especially sucking up pet hair.
Cool factor of "10" Cons: No retractable cord. Pricey if you pay full retail price.
I have several pets, which leave huge amounts of hair and dander on my carpet and area rugs. My new Dyson DC07 is the only vacuum that has been able to thoroughly clean the hair up. Getting my rugs professionally cleaned doesn't get them any cleaner!! I pride myself on having a clean house, but I was amazed on how much dirt the Dyson pulled out of my "clean" carpets. I had to empty the canister 3 times during the first cleaning!
I highly recommend this vacuum, especially if you can get one for a good price. I paid $275 for a factory refurbished unit.

Absolutely worst vacuum cleaner I've ever owned
by floreal ,Oct 12 '05
Pros: None. Cons: Overengineered. Doesn't clean thoroughly. Way overpriced for the value. Breaks down easily.
I rue the day when I laid out $500 for this worthless contraption. Dyson's TV commercial convinced me that his vacuum cleaner was the best to be had, so I thought the cost was worth it. If I had known, I'd have saved the $500, added another $300, and bought a Miele instead. The machine may suck up dust (although that would not explain why things still remain on the carpet after I have vacuumed over them once or twice) but it DOES NOT clean the fibers of the rug, which is just as important as picking up surface dirt. Every other vacuum cleaner I've had has had brushes that rake through the rug fibers, picking up dirt and fluffing the fibers. Not the Dyson. After a year of using this thing, my rug looks flat and gray, as though it has never been cleaned. After I had it for 4 months, it had to be taken in for repairs. It is so complicated that I can barely figure out how to switch it to hose mode. Please don't let that man's English accent convince you that his product is superior. It is not.

Do not buy if you have a high quality, thick carpet
by kdchaos ,Mar 20 '07
Pros: None Cons: Does not work with thick carpet
Dyson will not work on a high density and high pile carpet. It will tear of your carpet and vaccum and make an awful noise.

Dyson DC07
by jeffczyz ,Jan 31 '08
Pros: Easy Setup, Amazing Power, Easy to clean Cons: Pricey. A bit larger for storage
I purchased a DYSON DC07 in order to compare the power and ease of use to other Dyson's and Vacuum Cleaners it's class. The Dyson has also been a hyped up vacuum no matter what model.
After taking the time to unpack it and get it going, I was truly amazed. I consider myself a neat freak, but after seeing all of the dirt that came up out of my "clean" carpet I was instantly sold.
I've put some reviews of other vacuums I've done on my website and have some other details on Dyson's as well.

Great!!
by adorkibul ,Oct 23 '07
Pros: Great suction, Carpet looks cleaner, Better air quality Cons: Expensive, Heavy, The wand is kind of a pain to put together.
Wow.
I have been wanting a Dyson for a while, and after getting a dog & my nose running constantly, we bit the bullet & got one.
This thing is amazing. I vacuumed my house 3 or 4 times a week, and *thought* it was pretty clean. Boy was I wrong! The first time I used my Dyson, I had to empty the canister 6 times because of the dust/dog hair it picked up. The suction is awesome! The carpet even LOOKS cleaner. I can definitely tell a difference in the air in the house too. This vacuum is definitely worth the money!
My only complaints is that it's expensive (but worth it), heavy, and the wand is annoying to put together. Also, it doesn't go under furniture very easily.

Dyson is terrible
by mjneuhaus ,Oct 24 '07
Pros: This vacuum cleaner does pick up a great deal of dirt and dog hair Cons: Not user friendly for multiple floor types.
My husband replaced our broken vacuum with a Dyson upright. I hate it. It is bulky, difficult to maneuver, and even more difficult to use the hose. I cannot vacuum under furniture, around posts, or in tight spaces without taking the whole darn thing apart to use the hose, which by the way did not come with a floor attachment (that was an add-on, more money. Furthermore, when I vacuum area rugs, it makes a terrible ratcheting noise, which the users guide says is normal if you carpets are not properly attached. I could easily purchase an upright and a canister vacuum for the price of one of these overpriced models.

I love my Dyson!
by chort1313 ,Jan 04 '05
Pros: great suction, bagless, easy to use, and great for my allergies! Cons: it's a little heavy for me, but that's because I'm a weakling!!!!!!
After killing my boyfriend's ten year old Kenmore, he fixed it--but I thought we still better look at vacuum's. I heard about the Dyson's and thought I'd check them out on consumer reports. I was disappointed with the review they gave them. Then I thought I'd check out Epinions and see what folks had to say. With all of the great reviews and a handful of bad ones, I decided to purchase it at Sears. It was on sale and I got another 10% off.
I can not believe the suction of this vacuum. I used to hate vacuuming, but now I find it fun! We went over the living room floor with the Kenmore, then I went over it with the Dyson and was disgusted and delighted by how much dirt it picked up that the Kenmore did not get.
I want to get the stair vacuum tool for it and will probably pass on the pet tool for it. (Unless someone can tell me it is worth the money--from what I read, it's not.) I have five cats and a dog and this vacuum is just too great for picking up all of the hair!!

It does what it claims and a little bit more
by opinionmatters ,May 12 '04
Pros: Amazing suction power. The constant suction does not diminish. Cons: Furniture and car attachment should be a standard accessory considering the price of $400.00.
My wife and I were in the market for a new vacuum cleaner. We were looking at Electrolux Oxygen canister vacuum and the Dyson Root Cyclone. Since we are a big of big fan of Electrolux vacuum cleaner, mind you our Electrolux canister is about 30 years we felt we need a little bit more horse power to vacuum a 4,000 square foot home. I am very happy and satisfied with this product. Once I assembled the vacuum together (20 minutes to put together), I could tell the difference before and after the vacuum cleaning. It's amazing how much mineral dust and cellulose dust can accumulate over a short period of time. I am not cleaning fanatic, but I like cleanliness in general. I definitely think $400 is worth it considering how much suction power the Root Cyclone can generate. The only gripe I have is I wish it came with the attachment for cars and furniture as standard accessory.
